Look, all of you who start a fire and who equip yourselves with flaming arrows, walk in the light of the fire you started and among the flaming arrows you ignited! This is what you will receive from me: you will lie down in a place of pain.

凡爾燃火、自環以火炬者、其行於爾之火焰、與所燃之火炬中、爾必慘然而臥、我手使然也、

反是以為吾自有火、烟燄環繞、若然則以此照爾出入、可也、不知我必降以災、使彼長戚戚。

惟爾斯眾、皆自燃火、自圍以火炬、以為光照、且恃爾之火光、及爾所燃之火炬而行、當知我必降災於爾、使爾憂痛偃臥、或作爾曹燃火自圍以火炬爾必入爾所燃之烈火內至爾所燃之火炬中我必使爾遭遇如此使爾憂痛偃臥

But now, all you who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go, walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment.

But all you sinners who light fires should go ahead and walk in their light. You who carry flaming torches should walk in their light. Here’s what I’m going to do to you. I’ll make you lie down in great pain.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment.

But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon fall down in great torment.

Look, all you who kindle a fire, who encircle yourselves with torches; walk in the light of your fire and of the torches you have lit! This is what you’ll get from my hand: you will lie down in a place of torment.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with flaming arrows, Walk in the light of your fire And among the flaming arrows you have set ablaze. This you will have from My hand: You will lie down in torment.

Look, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with sparks: Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled— This you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in torment.

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that gird yourselves about with firebrands; walk ye in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Look, all you who kindle a fire, who encircle yourselves with firebrands; walk in the light of your fire and in the firebrands you have lit! This is what you’ll get from My hand: you will lie down in a place of torment.

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass[ yourselves] about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks[ that] ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who adorn yourselves with torches around yourselves, walk in the flame of your fire, and among the torches that you have kindled. You will have this from my hand: you will lie down in sorrow.

The LORD says,“ I will put a curse on people who trust in mere human beings, who depend on mere flesh and blood for their strength, and whose hearts have turned away from the LORD.They will be like a shrub in the desert. They will not experience good things even when they happen. It will be as though they were growing in the desert, in a salt land where no one can live.My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me.

For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened.Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

he does not need to honor his father.’ You have nullified the word of God on account of your tradition.Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said,‘ This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me,

Thus I told you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the LORD our God.They will fall down, but we will stand firm.

For you say,“ We have made a treaty with death, with Sheol we have made an agreement. When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, we have hidden ourselves in a deceitful word.”Therefore, this is what the sovereign master, the LORD, says:“ Look, I am laying a stone in Zion, an approved stone, set in place as a precious cornerstone for the foundation. The one who maintains his faith will not panic.I will make justice the measuring line, fairness the plumb line; hail will sweep away the unreliable refuge, the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.Your treaty with death will be dissolved; your agreement with Sheol will not last. When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by, you will be overrun by it.Whenever it sweeps by, it will overtake you; indeed, every morning it will sweep by, it will come through during the day and the night.” When this announcement is understood, it will cause nothing but terror.For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap around oneself.

Those who worship worthless idols forfeit the mercy that could be theirs.

Now the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf– signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur.

When one looks out over the land, he sees distress and darkness, gloom and anxiety, darkness and people forced from the land.

For this is what the master, the LORD, the Holy One of Israel says:“ If you repented and patiently waited for me, you would be delivered; if you calmly trusted in me you would find strength, but you are unwilling.You say,‘ No, we will flee on horses,’ so you will indeed flee. You say,‘ We will ride on fast horses,’ so your pursuers will be fast.

“‘ As for you, O house of Israel, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Each of you go and serve your idols, if you will not listen to me. But my holy name will not be profaned again by your sacrifices and your idols.

So this is what the sovereign LORD says:“ Look, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry! Look, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty! Look, my servants will rejoice, but you will be humiliated!Look, my servants will shout for joy as happiness fills their hearts! But you will cry out as sorrow fills your hearts; you will wail because your spirits will be crushed.Your names will live on in the curse formulas of my chosen ones. The sovereign LORD will kill you, but he will give his servants another name.Whoever pronounces a blessing in the earth will do so in the name of the faithful God; whoever makes an oath in the earth will do so in the name of the faithful God. For past problems will be forgotten; I will no longer think about them.

Jesus said,]“ For judgment I have come into this world, so that those who do not see may gain their sight, and the ones who see may become blind.”

their troubles multiply, they desire other gods. I will not pour out drink offerings of blood to their gods, nor will I make vows in the name of their gods.

Like a madman who shoots firebrands and deadly arrows,

And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence– and is set on fire by hell.

The LORD said to Moses,“ Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”So Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not release the Israelites from his land.

“ Go to Bethel and rebel! At Gilgal rebel some more! Bring your sacrifices in the morning, your tithes on the third day!Burn a thank offering of bread made with yeast! Make a public display of your voluntary offerings! For you love to do this, you Israelites.” The sovereign LORD is speaking!

With flaming fire he will mete out punishment on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.They will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,

If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.

Why pay money for something that will not nourish you? Why spend your hard-earned money on something that will not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is nourishing! Enjoy fine food!

but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Then the king said to his attendants,‘ Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!’

An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD’s faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him.
