諸天哪，你們當聽！大地啊，你當傾聽！因為耶和華說：「我養育兒女，帶大了他們，他們卻悖逆了我。牛認識牠的主人，驢認識主人的槽；以色列卻不認識我，我的子民卻不領悟。」禍哉！有罪的國，罪孽深重的民，作惡者的後裔，敗壞的兒女！他們離棄耶和華，藐視以色列的聖者，轉背遠離他。

他看見路邊有一棵無花果樹，就上前去，可是樹上除了葉子，什麼也找不到。於是他對那棵樹說：「你永遠不會再結果子了！」那棵無花果樹立刻就枯萎了。

到了收穫的季節，他就派了一個奴僕到那些農夫那裡去，好從他們收取葡萄園的果子。

萬軍之耶和華的葡萄園就是以色列家，他所喜歡的樹就是猶大人。他指望公正，看哪，卻有流血！他指望公義，看哪，卻有哀聲！

你的衣著為什麼赤紅呢？你的衣服為什麼像榨酒池中踹酒之人的呢？「我獨自踹酒槽，萬民中沒有一人與我在一起。我在怒氣中踹他們，在怒火中踩踏他們；他們的血水濺在我的衣服上，我把全身的衣服都染汙了；

到了收穫的季節，他就派了一個奴僕到那些農夫那裡去，好讓他們從葡萄園的果子中把當納的交給他。但那些農夫打了他，叫他空手回去。園主又派另一個奴僕去，可是他們把那個人也打了，並且侮辱他，叫他空手回去。於是，他又派了第三個人去，他們又把這個人打傷，趕了出去。「葡萄園的主人就說：『我該做什麼呢？我要派遣我的愛子，或許他們會尊重他。』「可是那些農夫看見他，就彼此討論說：『這是繼承人。我們把他殺了，那繼業就成為我們的了。』於是他們把他扔出葡萄園外，殺了。「那麼，葡萄園的主人會怎麼對待他們呢？他會來除滅這些農夫，把葡萄園交給別人。」大家聽了就說：「絕不可有這樣的事！」耶穌注視著他們，說：「那麼，經上記的『工匠所棄絕的石頭，它已經成了房角的頭塊石頭』這話是什麼意思呢？所有跌落在那石頭上的，就將被破碎；那石頭落在誰的身上，就會把誰砸得稀爛。」

忠信的城竟然變為妓女！這城從前充滿公正，有公義居於其中，現在卻只有殺人凶手。你的銀子成了渣滓，你的酒摻了水。你的首領們悖逆，與盜賊同夥；他們都貪愛賄賂，追逐贓酬；他們不為孤兒伸冤；寡婦的爭訟也達不到他們面前。

只有錫安城留了下來，像葡萄園中的棚子，像瓜田裡的茅屋，又像被圍困的城邑。

另一位天使從祭壇那裡出來，是有權柄統管火的；他對那位拿著鋒利鐮刀的大聲呼喚說：「伸出你那鋒利的鐮刀，收取地上葡萄樹累累的果子吧！因為葡萄已經熟了。」於是那位天使向大地揮動他的鐮刀，收取了地上的葡萄，丟進神憤怒的大榨酒池裡。榨酒池在城外被踐踏，就有血從榨酒池裡流出來，高到馬的嚼子，遠達三百公里。

神哪，你在古時，在我們祖先的日子裡所做的事，我們親耳聽見了，我們的祖先也向我們講述過。你親手趕出列國，卻栽培了我們的祖先；你向萬民降災禍，卻使我們的祖先興旺。要知道，他們占有地土不是靠自己的刀劍，他們得拯救不是靠自己的膀臂，而是靠你的右手、你的膀臂和你的容光，因你喜悅他們。

於是耶穌講了這個比喻：「一個人有一棵無花果樹栽在自己的葡萄園裡。當他過來，在那樹上找果子時，卻找不到，就對園丁說：『你看，一連三年，我在這無花果樹上找果子，都找不到。把它砍了吧！何必讓它白占土地？』

他們是以色列人：兒子的名份、榮耀、諸約、所賜的律法、禮儀、各樣應許，都是他們的；

當收果子的季節近了，主人就派了奴僕們到那些農夫那裡去收取他的果子。
