看哪！人還是歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：“我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就要死了。”

你為甚麼暗中逃走，瞞著我不讓我知道，使我可以歡歡喜喜地唱歌、擊鼓、彈琴給你送行呢？

這些人膽敢與你們同席，他們只顧餵飽（“餵飽”或譯：“牧養”）自己，是你們愛筵中的暗礁；是無雨的浮雲，隨風飄蕩；是秋天不結果子的樹，連根拔起，死而又死；

他們叫小孩子出去多如羊群，他們的年輕人四處跳躍；他們跟著琴鼓高歌，又因著簫的聲音歡樂。他們幸福度過他們的日子，一剎那間下陰間，毫無病痛。然而他們對神說：‘離開我們吧，我們不願意曉得你的道路。

他們吃，卻吃不飽；行淫，人數卻不會增多；因為他們離棄了耶和華，不遵守他的命令。淫行、酒和新酒，把人的心奪走了。

他們說：“願他趕快、迅速地成就他的作為，給我們看看！願以色列的聖者所計劃的臨近！願它來到，好讓我們知道！”

竟高抬自己，敵對天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前來，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪用這些器皿喝酒；你又讚美那些不能看見、不能聽見、甚麼都不能知道，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神，卻沒有把榮耀歸給那手中有你的氣息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。

伯沙撒王為他的一千大臣大擺筵席，他和他們一同喝酒。伯沙撒喝酒歡暢的時候，下令把他先祖尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷聖殿裡掠取的金銀器皿拿來，好讓他和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪用這些器皿來喝酒。於是人把從耶路撒冷聖殿裡，就是神的殿裡，掠來的金器皿拿來；王和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪就用這些器皿來喝酒。他們喝酒，讚美那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神。

你們臥在象牙床上，躺在榻上；你們吃羊群中的羊羔，和牛棚裡的牛犢。你們閒逸地彈琴奏樂，又為自己製造樂器，像大衛一樣。你們用大碗喝酒，用最貴重的膏油抹身；但你們並沒有為約瑟的敗落而痛心。

耶和華啊！你的工作多麼偉大，你的心思極為深奧。無理性的人不曉得，愚昧的人不明白這事：
