For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

“至于你荒废凄凉之处，并你被毁坏之地，现今众民居住必显为太窄；吞灭你的必离你遥远。

“你那曾经荒废、凄凉、遭到毁坏之地现在必容不下你的居民，那些吞灭你的人必远远地离开你。

至于你那些被毁坏荒废之处和你那些被拆毁之地，现在给众人居住必显为太狭窄了，那些吞灭你的都必远离你。

至于你的废墟、凄凉之处、遭毁坏之地，现在作居住用必显得太窄小；而那些吞灭你的人必远离你。

至於你的廢墟、淒涼之處、遭毀壞之地，現在作居住用必顯得太窄小；而那些吞滅你的人必遠離你。

蓋爾荒寂之區、傾毀之地、今有居民、成為狹隘、吞噬爾者將遠爾也、

向也土曠人稀、既而人稠地狹、寇爾者遠遁。

爾之土地荒蕪寂寞、城邑傾圮、今而後因居民眾多、必見狹隘、毀爾者必遠離爾、

“ Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.

“ Zion, you were destroyed. Your land was left empty. It was turned into a dry and empty desert. But now you will be too small to hold all your people. And those who destroyed you will be far away.

“ Surely your waste and your desolate places and your devastated land— surely now you will be too narrow for your inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.

“ Even the most desolate parts of your abandoned land will soon be crowded with your people. Your enemies who enslaved you will be far away.

For your waste and desolate places and your land marked by ruins will now be indeed too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.

For your ruins and deserted places and your destroyed land— Now you will certainly be too cramped for the inhabitants, And those who swallowed you will be far away.

“ For your waste and desolate places, And the land of your destruction, Will even now be too small for the inhabitants; And those who swallowed you up will be far away.

For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

For your waste and desolate places and your land marked by ruins— will now be indeed too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.

Yes, your land lies in ruins; it is desolate and devastated. But now you will be too small to hold your residents, and those who devoured you will be far away.

“ For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now that land will be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.

I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and[ place] shall not be found for them.

Sing, O barren, thou[ that] didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou[ that] didst not travail with child: for more[ are] the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass,[ that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye[ are] not my people,[ there] it shall be said unto them,[ Ye are] the sons of the living God.Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great[ shall be] the day of Jezreel.

Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.Mine enemies would daily swallow[ me] up: for[ they be] many that fight against me, O thou most High.

But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD[ am] thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made[ you] desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and[ are] an infamy of the people:

And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited[ as] towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say[ shall be] desolate without man and without beast,[ even] in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD[ is] good; for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:[ and] of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon[ is] like a threshingfloor,[ it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

For, behold, I[ am] for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel,[ even] all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better[ unto you] than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you,[ even] my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them[ of men].Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou[ land] devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.Neither will I cause[ men] to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
