『婦人哪能忘記她嗍奶的孩子，而不憐憫她親腹生的兒子呢？就使有忘記的，但我呢、我是不會忘記你的。

耶和華說：「女人怎能忘記自己吃奶的嬰孩，不憐憫她親生的孩子呢？即使她們可能忘記，我也不會忘記你。

夫婦豈能忘哺乳之嬰、不慈所妊之子、彼或忘之、我不忘爾、

夫婦豈忘哺乳之子、不慈甫產之嬰、彼或忘子、我不忘爾。

然婦豈忘哺乳之嬰、不慈所產之子乎、彼或忘子、我不忘爾、

“ Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

The Lord answers,“ Can a mother forget the baby who is nursing at her breast? Can she stop having tender love for the child who was born to her? She might forget her child. But I will not forget you.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.

“ Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, these may forget, yet will not I forget thee.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.

Can a woman forget her baby who nurses at her breast? Can she withhold compassion from the child she has borne? Even if mothers were to forget, I could never forget you!

父親怎樣憐憫他的兒女，耶和華也怎樣憐憫敬畏他的人！

雅各啊，要思念這些事；以色列啊，你是我的僕人。我造了你，你是我的僕人，以色列啊，我必不忘記你。

以色列年幼的時候，我愛他，就從埃及召我的兒子出來。

以法蓮是我的愛子嗎？是我喜歡的孩子嗎？我每逢責備他，仍深顧念他。因此，我的心腸牽掛着他，我必要憐憫他。這是耶和華說的。

你們雖然不好，尚且知道拿好東西給兒女，何況你們在天上的父，他豈不更要把好東西賜給求他的人嗎？

當我百姓遭毀滅的時候，慈心的婦人親手烹煮自己的兒女為食物。

亞哈謝的母親亞她利雅見她兒子死了，就起來剿滅王室所有的後裔。但約蘭王的女兒，亞哈謝的妹妹約示巴，將亞哈謝的兒子約阿施從被殺的王子中偷出來，把他和他的奶媽藏在臥房裏，躲避了亞她利雅，沒有被殺。

萬軍之耶和華說：「在我所定的日子，他們必屬我，是我寶貴的產業。我必憐憫他們，如同人憐憫那服侍他的兒子。

王對婦人說：「你有甚麼事？」她說：「這婦人對我說：『把你的兒子交出來，我們今日可以吃他，明日可以吃我的兒子。』我們就煮了我的兒子吃了。次日我對她說：『要把你的兒子交出來，我們可以吃。』她卻把她的兒子藏起來。」

活孩子的母親為自己的兒子心急如焚，對王說：「求我主把活孩子給那婦人吧，萬不可殺死他！」那婦人說：「這孩子也不歸我，也不歸你，你們就劈了吧！」王回應說：「把活孩子給這婦人，萬不可殺死他，因為這婦人是他的母親。」

野狗尚且哺乳其子，我百姓的婦人反倒殘忍，如曠野的鴕鳥一般；

你中間柔順嬌嫩的婦人，甚至因柔順嬌嫩腳不肯踏地的婦人，也必冷眼惡待她懷中的丈夫和自己的兒女。在被仇敵圍困、陷入窘迫的城鎮中，她因缺乏一切，就要暗中把從她兩腿中間出來的胞衣和所生下的兒女吃了。

就福音來說，他們為你們的緣故是仇敵；就揀選來說，他們因列祖的緣故是蒙愛的。因為上帝的恩賜和選召是不會撤回的。

頑梗不化的、言而無信的、無情無義的、不憐憫人的。

你們要吃你們兒子的肉，也要吃你們女兒的肉。
