But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

But the city of Zion said,“ The Lord has deserted me. The Lord has forgotten me.”

But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.”

Yet Jerusalem says,“ The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.”

Zion says,“ The LORD has abandoned me; the Lord has forgotten me!”

But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”

But Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.

Zion says,“ The Lord has abandoned me; The Lord has forgotten me!”

But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

“ Zion said,‘ The LORD has abandoned me, the sovereign master has forgotten me.’

But Zion said,“ Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”

Why do you say, Jacob, and you assert, Israel,“ My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?

But You have rejected and refused, You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.You have repudiated the covenant of Your servant; You have profaned his crown in the dust.You have broken down all his walls; You have brought his strongholds to ruin.All who pass along the way plunder him; He has become a disgrace to his neighbors.You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries; You have made all his enemies rejoice.You also turn back the edge of his sword, And have not made him stand in battle.You have put an end to his splendor And cast his throne to the ground.You have shortened the days of his youth; You have covered him with shame. SelahHow long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?

Why will You forget us forever? Why do You abandon us for so long?

How long, Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

As for me, I said in my alarm,“ I am cut off from Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the sound of my pleadings When I called to You for help.

I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?Has His favor ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah

Therefore behold, I will certainly forget you and thrust you away from My presence, along with the city which I gave you and your fathers.

I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? Far from it! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?“ Lord, they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.”But what is the divine response to him?“ I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my help are the words of my groaning.
