看哪，我正作一件新的事呢；如今已在發生，難道你們不知道麼？我在曠野開出一條道路來，在荒野掘成江河來。野地的走獸必尊重我，野狗和鴕鳥必崇敬我，因為我使曠野有水，使荒野有江河，好給我人民、我所揀選的、喝，

那時瘸子必跳躍像鹿，啞巴的舌頭必能歡呼。曠野必有水暴出，原野必有溪河湧流。浮光的熱沙地必變為池塘，乾渴之地必化為水泉；野狗的居所必變為池沼，鴕鳥的院落必滿有蘆荻和蒲草。

看吧，我必站在你前面，在何烈磐石那裏；你要擊打磐石，就有水從磐石裏出來，讓人民喝。』摩西就在以色列長老眼前這樣行了。

困苦貧窮人尋求着水，也沒有水；他們的舌頭因口渴而乾燥；我永恆主必應他們，我以色列的上帝必不離棄他們。我必在無草木的高處上開出江河來，在峽谷中開闢泉源；我必使曠野變為水塘，使乾旱之地變為出水之源。

他打開了磐石，水就湧出；在乾旱之處水流成河。

當大行殺戮的日子、譙樓倒塌的時候，各崇山各高岡之上、必有河溝流水。

他們必不饑餓，不口渴，炎熱和烈日必不傷害他們，因為憐憫他們的、必率領他們，引導他們到水泉旁。

他固然曾擊打了磐石，使水湧出，谿谷氾濫，他還能賜食物麼？還能為他人民豫備肉食麼？』

摩西舉手，用手杖把磐石擊打了兩下，就有許多水流了出來，會眾和他們的牲口都喝了。

你從天上將糧食賜給他們、去給他們充饑，又使水從磐石間流出來、給他們解渴；你又吩咐他們要進來取得這地、就是你曾舉手起誓給他們的。

在曠野他使磐石裂開，多多給他們喝，如喝深淵的水。

他們必哭哭啼啼而來，我必以安慰引導他們，使他們到流水之谿谷，在平坦的路上走，不至於在那上頭跌倒；因為我是以色列的父，以法蓮是我的長子。
