看哪，我要做一件新事，現在就要發生了！難道你們不知道嗎？我必在曠野開道路，在荒漠開江河。野地的禽獸中，連豺狗和鴕鳥也必尊崇我，因為我賜水給曠野，賜河流給荒漠——這是為了給我揀選的百姓水喝。

那時，瘸腿的必如鹿跳躍，啞巴的舌頭也必歡唱。在曠野將有水湧出，在荒漠將有溪湧流。灼熱的沙地將成為池塘，乾涸之地將成為水泉；豺狗躺臥的巢，鴕鳥的窩都將變為蘆葦和蒲草。

那些困苦和貧窮的人尋找水，卻沒有水；他們的舌頭因乾渴而焦燥；我耶和華必回應他們，以色列的神必不離棄他們。我要在光禿的高地開江河，在山谷開泉源；我要使曠野成為水池，使乾旱之地成為水源。

他打開磐石，水就湧出，在那乾旱之地流淌如河；

在大行殺戮的日子，在城樓倒塌的時候，一切崇山峻嶺都將有溪水湧流。

他們既不飢餓也不口渴，炎熱和太陽也不會傷害他們，因為那憐憫他們的必引領他們，帶領他們到水泉旁邊。

看哪，雖然他曾擊打磐石、使水湧出、溪流漫溢，難道他還能夠賜下糧食嗎？還能為自己的子民預備肉嗎？」

他在曠野使磐石裂開，給他們喝多如深淵的水。
