“看啊，他们不过像枯草，必遭焚烧，无法救自己脱离烈焰。这火并非取暖的炭火，也不是人可以靠近的火。

他们要像碎秸被火焚烧，不能救自己脱离火焰之力；这火并非可烤的炭火，也不是可以坐在其前的火。

看哪，他们要像碎秸被火焚烧，无法救自己脱离火焰的魔掌；没有炭火可以取暖，你也不能坐在火旁。

看哪！他們必像麥稭一樣被火燒毀，他們不能解救自己脫離威猛的火焰；這不是可以用來取暖的炭火，也不是可以坐在其面前的爐火。

彼眾必如草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救脫於烈焰、此火非炭足以暖體、可坐其前、

豈知彼乃草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救、皆為灰燼、不見微炭、不餘爝火、俾人溫暖。

豈知彼若草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救免遭火焰、更無餘炭、可以溫體、亦無微火、可坐其前、

Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. These are not coals for warmth; this is not a fire to sit by.

They are just like straw. Fire will burn them up. They can’t even save themselves from the powerful flames. These are not like coals that can warm anyone. This is not like a fire to sit by.

Behold, they are like stubble; the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before!

But they are like straw burning in a fire; they cannot save themselves from the flame. You will get no help from them at all; their hearth is no place to sit for warmth.

Look, they are like stubble; fire burns them. They cannot rescue themselves from the power of the flame. This is not a coal for warming themselves, or a fire to sit beside!

Behold, they have become like stubble, Fire burns them; They cannot save themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before!

Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, Nor a fire to sit before!

“万军之耶和华说，‘那日要来临了，就像烧红的火炉，所有狂妄自大、作恶多端的人都要像碎秸一样被火烧尽，连根带枝，荡然无存。

你们像纠结的荆棘，又像酩酊大醉的人，要如干秸被火烧尽。

“谁使一人从东方兴起？谁凭公义把他召到跟前？谁把列国交给他，使他征服列国的君王，用刀将他们化为尘土，用弓将他们沦为风吹的碎秸？

那些只能杀害身体，不能毁灭灵魂的人，不用怕他们。但要畏惧那位有权将身体和灵魂一同毁灭在地狱里的上帝。

以色列的光必成为火焰，他们的圣者必成为烈火，一日之间烧光亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜。

又像瓦器一样被摔得粉碎，找不到一块可以用来从火炉中取炭或从水池里舀水的碎片。’”

这时，有一位大力天使举起一块像大磨石的石头扔进海里，说：“巴比伦大城也必这样被用力扔下去，消失得无影无踪。

万军之耶和华说：“巴比伦宽阔的城墙要被夷为平地，高大的城门要被付之一炬，人们一切的辛劳都是徒然，列国劳碌的成果都化为灰烬。”

巴比伦的勇士不再作战，躲在堡垒里，士气消沉，像妇女一样无力；巴比伦的房屋被火焚烧，城门被攻破。

“毁灭天下的大山——巴比伦啊，我与你为敌，我要伸手攻击你，把你从悬崖上滚下去，使你化为灰烬。这是耶和华说的。再无人用你的石头做房角石或基石，你要永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

人若赚得全世界，却丧失自己的生命，又有什么益处呢？人还能拿什么换回自己的生命呢？

我必严惩他们。他们纵然火里逃生，仍要被火烧灭。我严惩他们的时候，他们便知道我是耶和华。

他们像草一样刚被栽上，刚被种上，刚在土里扎根，上帝一口气吹来，便都枯干了，暴风将他们像禾秸一样吹去。

他们的根必朽烂，花朵如飞尘飘落，就像火焰吞灭禾秸，烧尽干草，因为他们厌弃以色列之圣者的训诲，藐视万军之耶和华的言语。

我的上帝啊，求你把他们驱散，如同狂风吹散尘土和碎秸。烈火怎样烧毁森林，火焰怎样吞没山岭，求你也照样用狂风追赶他们，用暴雨恐吓他们。

渡口被占，沼泽地被烧，战士惊慌失措。’”

雅各家将成为火，约瑟家将成为烈焰，以扫家将成为碎秸，被火焚烧、吞噬，无一人逃脱。这是耶和华说的。

在山岭上跳跃奔腾，如隆隆战车，好像烈火吞噬干草的声音，又如大军摆开阵式准备打仗。
