You have trusted in your wickedness and have said,‘ No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself,‘ I am, and there is none besides me.’

You have felt secure in your evil ways. You have said,‘ No one sees what I’m doing.’ Your wisdom and knowledge lead you astray. You say to yourself,‘ I am like a god. No one is greater than I am.’

You felt secure in your wickedness; you said,“ No one sees me”; your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray, and you said in your heart,“ I am, and there is no one besides me.”

“ You felt secure in your wickedness.‘ No one sees me,’ you said. But your‘ wisdom’ and‘ knowledge’ have led you astray, and you said,‘ I am the only one, and there is no other.’

You were secure in your wickedness; you said,‘ No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge led you astray. You said to yourself,‘ I am, and there is no one else.’

“ For you have trusted in your wickedness; You have said,‘ No one sees me’; Your wisdom and your knowledge have warped you; And you have said in your heart,‘ I am, and there is no one else besides me.’

For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness; thou hast said, None seeth me; thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee, and thou hast said in thy heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.

You were secure in your wickedness; you said,‘ No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge led you astray. You said to yourself,‘ I exist, and there is no one else.’

For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I[ am], and none else beside me.

You were complacent in your evil deeds; you thought,‘ No one sees me.’ Your self-professed wisdom and knowledge lead you astray, when you say,‘ I am unique! No one can compare to me!’

For you have trusted in your wickedness. You have said,‘ No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you. You have said in your heart,‘ I am, and there is no one else besides me.’

“ Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire.”

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!

Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the Lord, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say,“ Who sees us?” or“ Who knows us?”

For it is written:“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the understanding of those who have understanding, I will confound.”Where is the wise person? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made foolish the wisdom of the world?For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Then He said to me,“ The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of perversion; for they say,‘ The Lord has abandoned the land, and the Lord does not see!’

Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

Can a person hide himself in hiding places So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord.“ Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.

Then He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each man in the rooms of his carved images? For they say,‘ The Lord does not see us; the Lord has abandoned the land.’ ”

No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive trouble and give birth to disaster.

“ Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre,‘ The Lord God says this:“ Because your heart is haughty And you have said,‘ I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you!By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches, And your heart is haughty because of your riches—Therefore this is what the Lord God says:‘ Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God,

He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has misled him. And he cannot save himself, nor say,“ Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

They make firm for themselves an evil purpose; They talk of setting snares secretly; They say,“ Who can see them?”

No one has authority over the wind to restrain the wind, nor authority over the day of death; and there is no military discharge in the time of war, and evil will not save those who practice it.

They have said,“ The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob perceive.”Pay attention, you stupid ones among the people; And when will you understand, foolish ones?He who planted the ear, does He not hear? Or He who formed the eye, does He not see?

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written:“ He is the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”;

Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The gushing flood will not reach us when it passes by, Because we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.”

People of low standing are only breath, and people of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up. Together they are lighter than breath.Do not trust in oppression, And do not vainly rely on robbery; If wealth increases, do not set your heart on it.

But you say,‘ What does God know? Can He judge through the thick darkness?Clouds are a hiding place for Him, so that He cannot see; And He walks on the vault of heaven.’

He says to himself,“ God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”
