迦勒底國巴比倫都譬諸女主、失位而坐塗炭、喪其容儀、

巴比倫邑、邑原文作處女當降而坐於塗炭、塗炭原文作塵埃迦勒底邦、邦原文作女下同當坐於地、不坐於位、不復稱嬌柔細膩、

“ Go down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, queen city of the Babylonians. No more will you be called tender or delicate.

“ City of Babylon, go down and sit in the dust. Leave your throne and sit on the ground. Queen city of the Babylonians, your life will not be comfortable and easy anymore.

Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate.

將被毀滅的巴比倫城啊，照著你向我們所做的去報應你的，那人是蒙福的！

耶和華宣告：「餵，與巴比倫居民同住的錫安哪，逃脫吧！」

錫安的城門必哀哭、悲慟；錫安必空空如也，坐在地上。

那麼以下就是我針對西納基立說的話：錫安處女藐視你、嘲笑你，耶路撒冷女子在你後面搖頭。

你心裡曾說：『我要升到天上，我要高舉我的寶座在神的眾星之上，我要坐在北方極處的聚會山上，我要升到雲端之上，我要使自己與至高者相比。』

你拯救困苦的子民，卻使高傲的眼目降卑；

耶和華必使居高處的，就是居於高聳城中的人，降為卑屈，又使城落敗、一敗塗地、墜入塵土——

安逸的婦女啊，你們要起來，聽我的聲音！安然無慮的女子啊，你們要傾聽我的言語！安然無慮的女子啊，再過一年多，你們就必顫抖！因為葡萄的收穫期必不再有，果實的收穫期也必不再來。安逸的婦女啊，你們戰兢吧！安然無慮的女子啊，你們顫抖吧！你們脫下衣服，赤著身子，束上麻布吧！

耶路撒冷啊，抖去塵土，起來，坐上寶座！被擄的錫安女子啊，解開你頸上的繩索！

她怎樣炫耀自己、驕奢淫逸，你們也要照樣給她折磨和悲傷，因為她心裡說：『我坐著女王的位子，我不是寡婦，絕不會經歷悲傷。』

你使他的光輝止息，把他的寶座拋在地上。

你曾說：『我必永遠作王后！』你不把這些事放在心上，也不顧念事情的結局。「因此，你這驕奢的人哪——你安然居住，心裡說：『只有我，除我以外再沒有別的；我必不會寡居，也不會經歷喪子之事。』——現在你要聽這話：喪子和寡居這兩件事必在一日之內突然臨到你！你的法術再多，符咒再有威力，這兩件事也必全然臨到你！

他說：「受欺壓的西頓的民哪，你們必不再歡躍了！起來，過到基提去！就是在那裡，你們也不得安寧。」

這話語傳到尼尼微王的時候，他從自己的寶座上起來，從身上脫下王袍，披上麻布，坐在灰燼中。
