耶和華說：『以色列人啊，你們是我的證人，我揀選你們做我的僕人，要叫你們認識我，相信我，明白我是耶和華，在我以前沒有上帝，在我以後也沒有。

誰成就了這事？誰在太初就掌管歷史的方向？是我耶和華，我太初就在那裡，末了也在那裡。

「你們這些悖逆的人啊，要將這些事銘記在心。你們要記住古時發生的事，因為我是獨一無二的上帝，再沒有誰能與我相比。

這樣，從日出之地到日落之處，普天下都知道除我以外，別無他神，我耶和華獨一無二。

我曾啟示，我曾拯救，我曾宣告。你們中間沒有別的神明。我是上帝，你們是我的證人。』這是耶和華說的。

「耶和華，以色列的君王和救贖主，萬軍之耶和華說，『我是首先的，我是末後的，除我以外再沒有真神。誰能與我相比？讓他告訴我。自從我設立這古老的民族以來所發生的事和將要發生的事，讓他告訴我。不要恐懼，不要害怕，我不是早已告訴過你們嗎？你們是我的證人。除我以外還有真神嗎？沒有，沒有別的磐石，一個也沒有。』」

難道你們不知道嗎？難道你們沒有聽過嗎？難道不是從起初就告訴過你們嗎？難道從大地奠立根基以來，你們一直沒有明白嗎？上帝的寶座設立在大地的圓圈之上，地上的人類好像蚱蜢。祂鋪展諸天，就像鋪展幔子、鋪展人居住的帳篷。

反而甘願放下一切，取了奴僕的形像，降生為人的樣子。

「然而，以色列啊，你是我的僕人；雅各啊，你是我揀選的，是我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔。

他來是為光做見證，叫世人可以藉著他而相信。約翰不是那光，他來是為那光做見證。

「看啊，我所扶持、所揀選、所喜悅的僕人，我已將我的靈賜給祂，祂必將正義帶給萬邦。

人一看就知道，一想就明白，這是耶和華親手成就的，是以色列的聖者創造的。」

但聖靈降臨在你們身上後，你們必得到能力，在耶路撒冷、猶太全境和撒瑪利亞，直到地極，作我的見證人。」

而記載這些事的目的是為了使你們相信耶穌就是基督，是上帝的兒子，並且使你們這些信祂的人可以靠祂的名得到生命。

約翰便為自己所看見的一切——上帝的道和耶穌基督做見證。

這福音是你們從我們親愛的同工以巴弗那裡得知的。他代表我們作基督的忠僕，

而且，我們就是在為上帝做假見證，因為我們見證上帝已經使基督復活了。如果沒有死人復活的事，上帝也就沒有叫基督復活。

我使他統管萬民，向萬民做見證。

「你要寫信告訴老底嘉教會的天使，那位實實在在、誠信無偽的見證人，就是上帝所造萬物的元首說，

你們也要為我做見證，因為你們從開始就與我在一起。
