This is what God, the LORD, says— who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it—

耶和華上帝創造諸天、而展布之、鋪張大地、及其土產、以生氣賦億兆、以神性畀行於地上之人、

昔耶和華上帝、創造穹蒼、使之張舒、奠定寰宇、使之生植、賦億兆以吹噓之氣、畀生民以活潑之神、今告厥僕曰、

主天主造諸天而張之、闢地及造其上之萬物、以生氣賦地上之生民、以靈性畀凡行於地者、今如是云、

This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:

God created the heavens and stretches them out. The Lord spreads out the earth with everything that grows on it. He gives breath to its people. He gives life to those who walk on it. He says to his servant,

Thus says God, the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it:

God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. And it is he who says,

This is what the true God, the LORD, says– the one who created the sky and stretched it out, the one who fashioned the earth and everything that lives on it, the one who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who live on it:

God Yahweh, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it, says:

God is enthroned above the circle of the earth; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like thin cloth and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

I made the earth, and created humans on it. It was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded everything in them.

A pronouncement: The word of the LORD concerning Israel. A declaration of the LORD, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him.

My own hand founded the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summoned them, they stood up together.

He made the earth by his power, established the world by his wisdom, and spread out the heavens by his understanding.

He wraps himself in light as if it were a robe, spreading out the sky like a canopy,laying the beams of his palace on the waters above, making the clouds his chariot, walking on the wings of the wind,and making the winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.He established the earth on its foundations; it will never be shaken.You covered it with the deep as if it were a garment; the water stood above the mountains.At your rebuke the water fled; at the sound of your thunder they hurried away—mountains rose and valleys sank— to the place you established for them.You set a boundary they cannot cross; they will never cover the earth again.He causes the springs to gush into the valleys; they flow between the mountains.They supply water for every wild beast; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.The birds of the sky live beside the springs; they make their voices heard among the foliage.He waters the mountains from his palace; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of your labor.He causes grass to grow for the livestock and provides crops for man to cultivate, producing food from the earth,wine that makes human hearts glad— making his face shine with oil— and bread that sustains human hearts.The trees of the LORD flourish, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.There the birds make their nests; storks make their homes in the pine trees.The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs are a refuge for hyraxes.He made the moon to mark the festivals; the sun knows when to set.You bring darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals stir.The young lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.The sun rises; they go back and lie down in their dens.Man goes out to his work and to his labor until evening.How countless are your works, LORD! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.Here is the sea, vast and wide, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small.There the ships move about, and Leviathan, which you formed to play there.All of them wait for you to give them their food at the right time.When you give it to them, they gather it; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust.When you send your breath, they are created, and you renew the surface of the ground.May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works.He looks at the earth, and it trembles; he touches the mountains, and they pour out smoke.I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.May my meditation be pleasing to him; I will rejoice in the LORD.May sinners vanish from the earth and wicked people be no more. My soul, bless the LORD! Hallelujah!

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Oh, Lord GOD! You yourself made the heavens and earth by your great power and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for you!

For this is what the LORD says— the Creator of the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, the one who established it( he did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited)— he says,“ I am the LORD, and there is no other.

Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

The life of every living thing is in his hand, as well as the breath of all humanity.

He spread the land on the waters. His faithful love endures forever.

Neither is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives everyone life and breath and all things.

God called the dry land“ earth,” and the gathering of the water he called“ seas.” And God saw that it was good.Then God said,“ Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so.The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD;for he laid its foundation on the seas and established it on the rivers.

The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all the stars, by the breath of his mouth.

Long ago you established the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.They will perish, but you will endure; all of them will wear out like clothing. You will change them like a garment, and they will pass away.

This is what the LORD, your Redeemer who formed you from the womb, says: I am the LORD, who made everything; who stretched out the heavens by myself; who alone spread out the earth;

He builds his upper chambers in the heavens and lays the foundation of his vault on the earth. He summons the water of the sea and pours it out over the surface of the earth. The LORD is his name.

In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him.

And: In the beginning, Lord, you established the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands;they will perish, but you remain. They will all wear out like clothing;you will roll them up like a cloak, and they will be changed like clothing. But you are the same, and your years will never end.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand? Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure or weighed the mountains on a balance and the hills on the scales?

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens. The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.

Then God said,“ Let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.So God made the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that crawl on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

as long as my breath is still in me and the breath from God remains in my nostrils,

If he put his mind to it and withdrew the spirit and breath he gave,
