But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend,

昔我眷顧亞伯拉罕、簡其後裔、以色列族雅各家、為我臣僕。

惟爾以色列我之僕、我所選之雅各、我所眷愛亞伯拉罕之苗裔、

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,

The Lord says,“ People of Israel, you are my servants. Family of Jacob, I have chosen you. You are the children of my friend Abraham.

But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend;

“ But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend,

But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, my friend—

“ But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,

“ But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.

But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham, My friend—

But thou, Israel,[ art] my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

“ You, my servant Israel, Jacob whom I have chosen, offspring of Abraham my friend,

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend,

and the scripture was fulfilled which saith, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.

For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and Jehovah hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

Didst not thou, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and give it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.Howbeit the son by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the son by the freewoman is born through promise.Which things contain an allegory: for these women are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children.But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother.For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, so also it is now.Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.

Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel, who I have chosen:Thus saith Jehovah that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob my servant; and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine:and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.

Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you.No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father I have made known unto you.

They answered unto him, We are Abraham’s seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin.And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever.If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.I know that ye are Abraham’s seed, yet ye seek to kill me, because my word hath not free course in you.I speak the things which I have seen with my Father: and ye also do the things which ye heard from your father.They answered and said unto him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham.Ye do the works of your father. They said unto him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word.Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.

and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine.

For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, And Israel for his own possession.

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which Jehovah did choose, he hath cast them off? thus do they despise my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name.

For he remembered his holy word, And Abraham his servant.And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with singing.And he gave them the lands of the nations; And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:That they might keep his statutes, And observe his laws. Praise ye Jehovah.

Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

and he said unto me, Thou art my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Hearken unto me, O Jacob, and Israel my called: I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God: Jehovah thy God hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.But it is not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.

What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

and the father of circumcision to them who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham which he had in uncircumcision.For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed that he should be heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith.
