论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。

那些制造它们、信靠它们的人也会和它们一样。

看啊，它们全是假的，毫无作为，虚空如风。

他们都愚昧无知，毫无用处的木制偶像能教导他们什么呢？

把他们的神像丢进火中烧毁。因为那些神像只是人用木头石头制造的，根本不是神。

制造偶像的真是无用，他们珍爱的偶像毫无价值。拜神像的人目盲眼瞎，愚昧无知，自找羞辱。制造神像、雕刻无益偶像的是谁？

不可把可憎之物带到家里，否则你们会像它们一样被毁灭。你们要极其憎恶、厌弃它们，因为它们是当毁灭之物。

人人愚昧无知，工匠都因自己铸造的偶像而惭愧，因为这些神像全是假的，没有气息。

世人都愚昧无知，工匠都因所制的偶像而羞愧，因为神像没有生命气息，是虚假的，毫无益处，荒唐可笑，刑罚一到，必被毁灭。

在她额上还写了一个神秘的名号：“大巴比伦——地上淫妇及可憎事物之母”。

他们必出去观看那些背叛我之人的尸体，因为咬他们的虫永远不死，烧他们的火永远不灭，世人都必厌恶他们。”

‘凡雕刻或铸造耶和华所憎恶的神像，并偷偷供奉的必受咒诅！’全体民众要回答说，‘阿们！’
