The LORD continued,“ In every town in the land I will purge them like straw blown away by the wind. I will destroy my people. I will kill off their children. I will do so because they did not change their behavior.

He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,so that, as it is written,“ Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

they will say about me,“ Yes, the LORD is a powerful deliverer.”’” All who are angry at him will cower before him.All the descendants of Israel will be vindicated by the LORD and will boast in him.

The LORD says,“ Wise people should not boast that they are wise. Powerful people should not boast that they are powerful. Rich people should not boast that they are rich.If people want to boast, they should boast about this: They should boast that they understand and know me. They should boast that they know and understand that I, the LORD, act out of faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth and that I desire people to do these things,” says the LORD.

And Mary said,“ My soul exalts the Lord,and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Savior,

Though these people make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves, when he shouts at them, they will flee to a distant land, driven before the wind like dead weeds on the hills, or like dead thistles before a strong gale.

Hannah prayed,“ My heart rejoices in the LORD; my horn is exalted high because of the LORD. I loudly denounce my enemies, for I am happy that you delivered me.No one is holy like the LORD! There is no one other than you! There is no rock like our God!

I will rejoice because of the LORD; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me!

Not so with the wicked! Instead they are like wind-driven chaff.

I look like a bridegroom when he wears a turban as a priest would; I look like a bride when she puts on her jewelry.For just as the ground produces its crops and a garden yields its produce, so the sovereign LORD will cause deliverance to grow, and give his people reason to praise him in the sight of all the nations.
