“ Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment.

The Lord says,“ People who live on the islands, come and stand quietly in front of me. Let the nations gain new strength in order to state their case. Let them come forward and speak. Let us go to court and find out who is right.

Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment.

“ Listen in silence before me, you lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

But Jehovah is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.

Hear ye now what Jehovah saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah’s controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

They help every one his neighbor; and every one saith to his brother, Be of good courage.So the carpenter encourageth the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smiteth the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that it should not be moved.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, that shall remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth from it.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning- hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.Haste ye, and come, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves together: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Jehovah.

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.Wilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty.

Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat!I would set my cause in order before him, And fill my mouth with arguments.I would know the words which he would answer me, And understand what he would say unto me.Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? Nay; but he would give heed unto me.There the upright might reason with him; So should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; from the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit.

Oh that I had one to hear me!( Lo, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me) And that I had the indictment which mine adversary hath written!Surely I would carry it upon my shoulder; I would bind it unto me as a crown:

Make an uproar, O ye peoples, and be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces.Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Produce your cause, saith Jehovah; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.Let them bring forth, and declare unto us what shall happen: declare ye the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come.

He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand up together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples, from far: Jehovah hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name:
