For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

凡是你手可作的，都當盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間裡，既沒有工作，又沒有籌謀；沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

因為在死亡之地無人記念你，在陰間有誰稱謝你呢？

“我被害流血，下到深坑，有甚麼益處呢？塵土還能稱讚你，還能傳揚你的信實嗎？

這樣，他們和一切屬他們的，都活活地下到陰間，地在他們上面合閉，他們就從會眾中滅亡了。

惡人必因自己所行的惡事被推倒，義人死的時候仍有所倚靠。

他們要進入永遠的刑罰，義人卻要進入永生。”

不但這樣，我們與你們之間，有深淵隔開，人想從這邊過到你們那裡是不可能的，從那邊過到我們這邊也是不可能的。’那人說：‘我祖啊，那麼求你差遣拉撒路到我家裡去，因為我有五個兄弟，他可以警告他們，免得他們也到這受苦的地方來。’亞伯拉罕說：‘他們有摩西和先知可以聽從。’他說：‘不然，我祖亞伯拉罕啊，如果有人從死人中復活，到他們那裡去，他們必定會悔改。’亞伯拉罕說：‘如果他們不聽從摩西和先知，就算有一個從死人中復活的人，他們也不會接受勸告。’”

但本來要承受天國的人，反被丟在外面黑暗裡，在那裡必要哀哭切齒。”

死人不能讚美耶和華，下到陰間的不能讚美他。至於我們，我們要稱頌耶和華，從現在直到永遠。你們要讚美耶和華。

你要為死人行奇事嗎？陰魂會起來稱謝你嗎？（細拉）在墳墓裡有人述說你的慈愛嗎？在滅亡之地（“滅亡之地”原文作“亞巴頓”）有人述說你的信實嗎？
