譬彼玄鳥、呢喃對語、譬彼班鳩、哀鳴不已、余亦若是、瞻望於上、至於目眩。耶和華與、我遭患難、爾其救余、

我哀鳴如燕如鶴、悲聲如鴿、我瞻望於上、至於目眩、我瞻望於上至於目弦或作我目向上流淚不已主歟、我甚艱苦、求主拯救、

I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am being threatened; Lord, come to my aid!”

I cried softly like a weak little bird. I sounded like a dove as I mourned. My eyes grew tired as I looked up toward heaven. Lord, my life is in danger. Please come and help me!

Like a swallow or a crane I chirp; I moan like a dove. My eyes are weary with looking upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be my pledge of safety!

Delirious, I chattered like a swallow or a crane, and then I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew tired of looking to heaven for help. I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!”

We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but[ there is] none; for salvation,[ but] it is far off from us.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.Behold, as the eyes of servants[ look] unto the hand of their masters,[ and] as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes[ wait] upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease,[ and] with the contempt of the proud.

And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead[ her] as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.

Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who[ is] he[ that] will strike hands with me?

As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation[ that] could not save[ us].
