Like a shepherd’s tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

你要將天地捲起來，像捲一件外衣，天地像衣服都會改變。你卻永不改變；你的年數沒有窮盡。」

因為我終日遭災難，每日早晨受懲治。

因為我們知道，我們這地上的帳篷若拆毀了，我們將有上帝所造的居所，不是人手所造的，而是在天上永存的。

雖有掌權者坐着妄論我，你僕人卻思想你的律例。

願上帝把我壓碎，伸手將我剪除。

他出來如花，凋謝而去；他飛逝如影，不能存留。

我認為趁我還在這帳棚的時候，應該激發你們的記憶，因為知道我脫離這帳棚的時候快到了，正如我們的主耶穌基督所指示我的。

其實，我們在這帳篷裏的人勞苦嘆息，並不是願意脫下地上的帳篷，而是願意穿上天上的居所，好使這必死的被生命吞滅了。

我的年日如夕陽，我也如草枯乾。

至於我，我曾驚惶地說：「我從你眼前被隔絕。」然而，我呼求你的時候，你仍聽我懇求的聲音。

國中必永無人煙，世世代代無人居住；阿拉伯人不在那裏支搭帳棚，牧羊的人也不使羊羣躺臥在那裏。

其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現片刻就不見了。

我也照樣度過虛空的歲月，愁煩的夜晚指定給我。我躺臥的時候就說：『我何時可以起來呢？』漫漫長夜，我總是翻來覆去，直到天亮。我的肉體以蟲子和塵土為衣，我的皮膚才收了口又流膿。我的日子比織布的梭更快，都消耗在沒有指望之中。「你要記得，我的生命不過是一口氣，我的眼睛必不再看見福樂。

他使我的力量半途衰弱，使我的年日短少。我說：「我的上帝啊，不要使我中年去世。你的年數世世無窮！」

僅存的錫安，好似葡萄園的草棚，如瓜田中的茅屋，又如被圍困的城。

早晚之間，他們就被毀滅，永歸無有，無人理會。

「我的靈耗盡，我的日子消逝；墳墓為我預備好了。

你減少他年輕的日子，又使他蒙羞。（細拉）耶和華啊，這要到幾時呢？你要隱藏自己到永遠嗎？你的憤怒如火焚燒要到幾時呢？求你想念我的生命是何等短暫。你創造世人，要使他們歸於何等的虛空呢？

「我的日子比奔跑者更快，急速過去，不見福樂。我的日子如蒲草船掠過，如鷹俯衝抓食。
