So this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria:‘ He will not enter this city, nor will he shoot an arrow here. He will not attack it with his shielded warriors, nor will he build siege works against it.

“所以耶和华论亚述王如此说：他必不得来到这城，也不在这里射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不筑垒攻城。

“所以耶和华论亚述王如此说：他必不得来到这城，也不在这里射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不能建土堆攻城。

“所以耶和华论亚述王如此说：他必不得来到这城，也不在这里射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不能建土堆攻城。

至于亚述王，耶和华说，‘他必不能进城或向这里射一箭，必不能手持盾牌兵临城下或修筑攻城的高台。

所以耶和华这样论到亚述王，说：‘他必不会来到这城，也不会在这里射箭；不会拿着盾牌来到城前，也不会筑土垒攻城。

“因此，耶和华论到亚述王如此说：‘他必不进入这城，也不在这里射箭；他必不拿着盾牌兵临城下，也不筑起土垒攻城；

「所以耶和華論亞述王如此說：他必不得來到這城，也不在這裏射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不築壘攻城。

「所以耶和華論亞述王如此說：他必不得來到這城，也不在這裏射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不能建土堆攻城。

至於亞述王，耶和華說，『他必不能進城或向這裡射一箭，必不能手持盾牌兵臨城下或修築攻城的高臺。

『因此永恆主論亞述王是這樣說的：「他不會來到這城，也不會射箭到這裏；不會拿盾牌臨到城前，也不會倒土堆攻城。

「因此，耶和華論到亞述王如此說：『他必不進入這城，也不在這裡射箭；他必不拿著盾牌兵臨城下，也不築起土壘攻城；

故耶和華指亞述王曰、彼必不至此城、不射一矢於彼、不執干至其前、不築壘以攻之、

遂指亞述王、語民曰、彼必不入此城、不以干戈弓矢陳於前、不築壘以攻擊、

故主論亞述王曰、彼必不入此城、不射矢於其中、不執干戈至於其前、不築壘以攻之、

“ Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:“ He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.

“ Here is a message from me about the king of Assyria. I say,“‘ He will not enter this city. He will not even shoot an arrow at it. He will not come near it with a shield. He will not build a ramp in order to climb over its walls.

“ Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city or shoot an arrow there or come before it with a shield or cast up a siege mound against it.

“ And this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:“‘ His armies will not enter Jerusalem. They will not even shoot an arrow at it. They will not march outside its gates with their shields nor build banks of earth against its walls.

“ Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build up a siege ramp against it.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:‘ He will not come to this city nor shoot an arrow there; and he will not come before it with a shield, nor heap up an assault ramp against it.

“ Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria:‘ He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come unto this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow there or come before it with a shield or build up an assault ramp against it.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

“ Therefore Yahweh says concerning the king of Assyria,‘ He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.

This very day, standing in Nob, they shake their fist at Daughter Zion’s mountain– at the hill of Jerusalem.Look, the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, is ready to cut off the branches with terrifying power. The tallest trees will be cut down, the loftiest ones will be brought low.The thickets of the forest will be chopped down with an ax, and mighty Lebanon will fall.

Into his right hand comes the portent for Jerusalem– to set up battering rams, to give the signal for slaughter, to shout out the battle cry, to set up battering rams against the gates, to erect a siege ramp, to build a siege wall.

So this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria:“ He will not enter this city, nor will he shoot an arrow here. He will not attack it with his shield-carrying warriors, nor will he build siege works against it.He will go back the way he came. He will not enter this city,” says the LORD.I will shield this city and rescue it for the sake of my reputation and because of my promise to David my servant.’”That very night the LORD’s messenger went out and killed 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. When they got up early the next morning, there were all the corpses.

Look at Zion, the city where we hold religious festivals! You will see Jerusalem, a peaceful settlement, a tent that stays put; its stakes will never be pulled up; none of its ropes will snap in two.

In the evening there is sudden terror; by morning they vanish. This is the fate of those who try to plunder us, the destiny of those who try to loot us!

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.They will demolish you– you and your children within your walls– and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

The many nations massing together are as good as dead, those who make a commotion as loud as the roaring of the sea’s waves. The people making such an uproar are as good as dead, those who make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves.

So look, the sovereign master is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River– the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks.It will spill into Judah, flooding and engulfing, as it reaches to the necks of its victims. He will spread his wings out over your entire land, O Immanuel.”You will be broken, O nations; you will be shattered! Pay attention, all you distant lands of the earth! Get ready for battle, and you will be shattered! Get ready for battle, and you will be shattered!Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted! Issue your orders, but they will not be executed! For God is with us!
