Let your priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let your saints rejoice in your goodness.O Lord God, do not turn away the face of your anointed one! Remember your steadfast love for David your servant.”

And the Lord said to him,“ I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel.His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah

I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah

How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?

To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt.Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud.

whatever prayer, whatever plea is made by any man or by all your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart and stretching out his hands toward this house,

As soon as King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the Lord.

For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.

Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say,“ Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.The Lord answered and said to his people,“ Behold, I am sending to you grain, wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.“ I will remove the northerner far from you, and drive him into a parched and desolate land, his vanguard into the eastern sea, and his rear guard into the western sea; the stench and foul smell of him will rise, for he has done great things.
