For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.Wisdom is too high for fools; in the assembly at the gate they must not open their mouths.

Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city.

King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this.And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.

In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

There was once a small city with only a few people in it. When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.

Hezekiah had very great wealth and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver and gold and for his precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuables.He also made buildings to store the harvest of grain, new wine and olive oil; and he made stalls for various kinds of cattle, and pens for the flocks.He built villages and acquired great numbers of flocks and herds, for God had given him very great riches.

Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle.

By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.

“ Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him.He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the Lord.“ But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.”
