本节经文

交叉引用

  • Isaiah 10:13-14
For he said: I have done this by my own strength and wisdom, for I am clever. I abolished the borders of nations and plundered their treasures; like a mighty warrior, I subjugated the inhabitants. My hand has reached out, as if into a nest, to seize the wealth of the nations. Like one gathering abandoned eggs, I gathered the whole earth. No wing fluttered; no beak opened or chirped.
  • Isaiah 37:11-18
Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries: they completely destroyed them. Will you be rescued?Did the gods of the nations that my predecessors destroyed rescue them— Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the Edenites in Telassar?Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, or Ivvah?’”Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers’ hands, read it, then went up to the LORD’s temple and spread it out before the LORD.Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD:LORD of Armies, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you are God— you alone— of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.Listen closely, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and see. Hear all the words that Sennacherib has sent to mock the living God.LORD, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated all these countries and their lands.
  • Isaiah 59:16-18
He saw that there was no man— he was amazed that there was no one interceding; so his own arm brought salvation, and his own righteousness supported him.He put on righteousness as body armor, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and he wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. So he will repay according to their deeds: fury to his enemies, retribution to his foes, and he will repay the coasts and islands.
  • Isaiah 37:29-36
Because your raging against me and your arrogance have reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth; I will make you go back the way you came.“‘ This will be the sign for you: This year you will eat what grows on its own, and in the second year what grows from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit. The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem, and survivors from Mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will accomplish this.’“ Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build up a siege ramp against it.He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city. This is the LORD’s declaration.I will defend this city and rescue it for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.”Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!
  • Isaiah 10:32-34
Today the Assyrians will stand at Nob, shaking their fists at the mountain of Daughter Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.Look, the Lord GOD of Armies will chop off the branches with terrifying power, and the tall trees will be cut down, the high trees felled. He is clearing the thickets of the forest with an ax, and Lebanon with its majesty will fall.
  • Isaiah 17:12-14
Ah! The roar of many peoples— they roar like the roaring of the seas. The raging of the nations— they rage like the rumble of rushing water. The nations rage like the rumble of a huge torrent. He rebukes them, and they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills and like tumbleweeds before a gale.In the evening— sudden terror! Before morning— it is gone! This is the fate of those who plunder us and the lot of those who ravage us.
  • Psalms 46:6
Nations rage, kingdoms topple; the earth melts when he lifts his voice.
