When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

虽有冰雹击倒树林，城也夷为平地；

但在敌人的国土中，必有冰雹降下，打倒他们的树林，他们的城必被夷平。

尽管冰雹降下击倒森林、城邑彻底败落，

先必降雹、擊折樹林、城必傾塌、陷於漥處、

Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely,

Hail might strip the forests bare. Cities might be completely destroyed.

And it will hail when the forest falls down, and the city will be utterly laid low.

Even if the forest should be destroyed and the city torn down,

But hail will level the forest, and the city will sink into the depths.

And it will hail when the forest comes down, And the city will be utterly laid low.

Though hail comes down on the forest, And the city is brought low in humiliation.

But it shall hail in the downfall of the forest; and the city shall be utterly laid low.

But hail will level the forest, and the city will sink into the depths.

Even if the forest is destroyed and the city is annihilated,

though hail flattens the forest, and the city is leveled completely.

Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one,[ which] as a tempest of hail[ and] a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low,[ even] to the ground; he bringeth it[ even] to the dust.

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of[ his] anger, and[ with] the flame of a devouring fire,[ with] scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones[ is] as a storm[ against] the wall.

For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Say unto them which daub[ it] with untempered[ morter], that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend[ it].Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where[ is] the daubing wherewith ye have daubed[ it]?Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend[ it] with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in[ my] fury to consume[ it].

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof,[ and] the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border,[ and] the forest of his Carmel.

The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast[ it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
