Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

法老之保障、必為爾之羞辱、埃及之蔭庇、必為爾之愧恥、

爾惟法老之勢力是恃、埃及之庇蔭是賴、則必含羞蒙恥、

爾恃法老之勢力、終必抱愧、望於伊及得蔭庇、定蒙羞辱、

But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace.

But looking to Pharaoh will only bring them shame. Asking Egypt for help will bring them dishonor.

Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation.

But by trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated, and by depending on him, you will be disgraced.

But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your humiliation.

Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame, And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.

Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your disgrace.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt[ your] confusion.

But Pharaoh’s protection will bring you nothing but shame, and the safety of Egypt’s protective shade nothing but humiliation.

They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

Yahweh says:“ Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.

and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

For the Scripture says,“ Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”

Pharaoh’s army had come out of Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they broke up from Jerusalem.Then Yahweh’s word came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.The Chaldeans will come again, and fight against this city. They will take it and burn it with fire.”’“ Yahweh says,‘ Don’t deceive yourselves, saying,“ The Chaldeans will surely depart from us;” for they will not depart.For though you had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and only wounded men remained among them, they would each rise up in his tent and burn this city with fire.’”

They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”The burden of the animals of the South. They will be disappointed, yes, confounded, all of them. Those who are makers of idols will go into confusion together.Israel will be saved by Yahweh with an everlasting salvation. You will not be disappointed nor confounded to ages everlasting.

Behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt, which if a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.
