那時，因他發怒地就震動戰抖，山的根基也震動挪移。他的鼻孔冒煙上騰，他的口發火焚燒，連煤炭也燒着了。他使天垂下，親自降臨，黑雲在他腳下。

「你們要等候我，直到我興起擄掠的日子；因為我已定意招聚列邦，聚集列國，將我的惱怒，我一切的烈怒，都傾倒在它們身上。我妒忌的火必燒滅全地。這是耶和華說的。

因為我們的神是吞滅的火。

那時這不法的人必出現，主耶穌要用口中的氣滅絕他，以自己來臨的光輝摧毀他。

他說：「耶和華從西奈來，從西珥向他們顯現，從巴蘭山發出光輝；從萬萬聖者中來臨，從他右手向他們發出烈火的律法。

因為我的怒火焚燒，直燒到極深的陰間，吞噬地和地的出產，連山的根基也燒着了。

它的河水要變為柏油，塵埃變為硫磺，大地成為燃燒的柏油，

你們看見，心裏就喜樂，你們的骨頭必如草生長；耶和華的手在他僕人身上彰顯，他卻要向他的仇敵發怒。」

戰士在戰亂中所穿的靴子，以及那滾在血中的衣服，都必當作柴火燃燒。

萬民必像燒着的石灰，又如斬斷的荊棘，在火裏燃燒。」

耶和華啊，你發怒要到幾時呢？要到永遠嗎？你的忌恨要如火焚燒嗎？

所有過路的人哪，願這事不要發生在你們身上。你們要留意觀看，有像這樣臨到我的痛苦沒有？耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我受苦。他從高處降火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他張開網，絆我的腳，使我退後，又令我終日淒涼發昏。

我正觀看的時候，有寶座設立，上面坐着亙古常在者。他的衣服潔白如雪，頭髮如純淨的羊毛。寶座是火焰，其輪為烈火。

大山因他震動，小山也都融化；大地在他面前突起，世界和住在其間的也都如此。他發憤恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的憤怒如火傾洩而出，磐石因他崩裂。

因此，主－萬軍之耶和華必使亞述王的壯士變為瘦弱，在他的榮華之下必有火點燃，如同火在燃燒一般。以色列的光必變成火，它的聖者必成為火焰；一日之間，將亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒淨盡，

在日落之處，人必敬畏耶和華的名；在日出之地，人必敬畏他的榮耀。他必如湍急的河流沖來，耶和華的靈催逼他自己。

禍哉！亞述，我怒氣的棍！他們手中的杖是我的惱恨。
