那時地搖撼震動，山的根基也戰抖，是因他發烈怒而左右搖撼。在他鼻孔裏有煙往上冒，從他口中有火焚燒着；連炭也因而着起來。他使天下垂，親自降臨；有暗霧在他腳下。

永恆主發神諭說：『由此看來，你們要等候着我，等有一天我起來作證。因為我已決定聚集列邦，招聚列國，將我的盛怒、我猛烈的怒氣、都倒在他們身上；因為在我的妒憤中全地都必被燒滅。

因為我們的上帝乃是燬滅的火。

然後那不法者才顯露出來。主耶穌必用他口中的氣殺掉他，用他御臨之顯現消滅他。

他說：『永恆主從西乃而來，他從西珥發晨光、照耀他們，從巴蘭山射發光輝，帶着萬萬聖者來臨，他右手旁有勇士，

『因為我怒氣中有火燒起，直燒到陰間之最低處，把地和地的土產都燒滅掉，連山的根基也燒𤏲了。

以東的溪河必變為石油，她的塵土必變為硫磺，她的地必成為燒着的石油。

你們看見，你們心中就高興，你們的骨頭就滿得滋潤、像青草一樣；人就知道永恆主的手是跟着他僕人，他的盛怒是加於他仇敵的。

因為鏖戰震地的戰靴、和輥於血中的戰袍、都必做燒火的燃料、給火焚燒。

萬族之民必像石灰之焚燒，像割斷的荊條，在火中燒燬掉。』

永恆主啊，要到幾時呢？你要永久發怒麼？你的妒憤要像火焚燒麼？

『故此一切過路人哪，你們觀察來看吧！看所加於我的、有沒有痛苦像我的痛苦，就是永恆主發烈怒時所使我受的苦。『他從高天降火，使火下我骨頭；他鋪下網子來絆我的腳，使我退後；他使我淒涼，終日發暈。

我正在觀看，就看見有些寶座設立着，有一位壽高年邁者就席坐着；他的衣服皎白如雪，他的頭髮如純淨的羊毛；他的寶座乃是火燄；其輪子是燒着的烈火。

大山因着他而震動，小山也都熔化。大地砰壞於他面前，世界和住於其間的也都毁滅。在他的盛怒前、誰能站得住呢？他怒氣之猛烈、誰能當得起呢？他的烈怒像火傾瀉而出，碞石因他而崩裂。

因此主萬軍之永恆主必打發消瘦去在亞述王的肥胖中，在他的威榮下就有燃燒燒起，如火燃燒一樣。以色列的光必成為火，他的聖者必成為火燄，一日之間就把亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燬燒滅。

這樣、從日落之處人就必敬畏永恆主的名，從日出之地人就必看見他的榮耀；因為他必像狹急的河流沖來，永恆主的氣直催迫着。

有禍呀，亞述，我怒氣的棍子！他是我忿怒之杖、在我手中。
