那时，因他发怒，地就摇撼战抖；山的根基也震动摇撼。从他鼻孔冒烟上腾；从他口中发火焚烧，连炭也着了。他又使天下垂，亲自降临，有黑云在他脚下。

耶和华说：“你们要等候我，直到我兴起掳掠的日子；因为我已定意招聚列国，聚集列邦，将我的恼怒，就是我的烈怒，都倾在她们身上。我的忿怒如火，必烧灭全地。

因为我们的神乃是烈火。

那时这不法的人必显露出来。主耶稣要用口中的气灭绝他，用降临的荣光废掉他。

他说：“耶和华从西奈而来，从西珥向他们显现，从巴兰山发出光辉，从万万圣者中来临，从他右手为百姓传出烈火的律法。

因为在我怒中有火烧起，直烧到极深的阴间，把地和地的出产尽都焚烧，山的根基也烧着了。

以东的河水要变为石油，尘埃要变为硫磺；地土成为烧着的石油，

你们看见，就心中快乐；你们的骨头必得滋润像嫩草一样；而且耶和华的手向他仆人所行的必被人知道；他也要向仇敌发恼恨。

战士在乱杀之间所穿戴的盔甲，并那滚在血中的衣服，都必作为可烧的，当作火柴。

列邦必像已烧的石灰，像已割的荆棘在火中焚烧。”

耶和华啊，这到几时呢？你要动怒到永远吗？你的愤恨要如火焚烧吗？

你们一切过路的人哪，这事你们不介意吗？你们要观看：有像这临到我的痛苦没有？就是耶和华在他发烈怒的日子使我所受的苦？他从高天使火进入我的骨头，克制了我；他铺下网罗，绊我的脚，使我转回；他使我终日凄凉发昏。

我观看，见有宝座设立，上头坐着亘古常在者。他的衣服洁白如雪，头发如纯净的羊毛。宝座乃火焰，其轮乃烈火。

大山因他震动；小山也都消化。大地在他面前突起；世界和住在其间的也都如此。他发忿恨，谁能立得住呢？他发烈怒，谁能当得起呢？他的忿怒如火倾倒；磐石因他崩裂。

因此，主万军之耶和华必使亚述王的肥壮人变为瘦弱，在他的荣华之下必有火着起，如同焚烧一样。以色列的光必如火；他的圣者必如火焰。在一日之间，将亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜焚烧净尽；

如此，人从日落之处必敬畏耶和华的名，从日出之地也必敬畏他的荣耀；因为仇敌好像急流的河水冲来，是耶和华之气所驱逐的。

亚述是我怒气的棍，手中拿我恼恨的杖。
