See, the Name of the Lord comes from afar, with burning anger and dense clouds of smoke; his lips are full of wrath, and his tongue is a consuming fire.

The Lord will come from far away in all his power and glory. He will show his burning anger. Thick clouds of smoke will be all around him. His mouth will speak angry words. The words from his tongue will be like a destroying fire.

那時大地搖撼震動，群山的根基也都動搖，它們搖撼，是因為耶和華發怒。濃煙從他的鼻孔往上冒，烈火從他的口中噴出來，連炭也燒著了。他使天下垂，親自降臨；在他的腳下黑雲密布。

耶和華說：“因此，你們要等候我，等候我起來指證（按照《馬索拉文本》，“指證”作“擄掠”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）的日子，我已經決定集合萬邦，召聚列國，把我的盛怒，就是我的一切烈怒，都傾倒在他們身上；因為全地都必被我的妒火吞滅。

因為我們的神是烈火。

那時，這不法的人必要顯露出來。主耶穌要用自己口中的氣除掉他，以自己再來所顯現的光輝消滅他。

他說：“耶和華從西奈而來，從西珥光照他們，從巴蘭山射出光輝，在千萬聖者中來臨，在他的右手有烈火的律法。

因為在我的怒中有火燃燒起來，燒到陰間的深處，把大地和地的出產盡都吞滅，連山的根基也燒著了。

以東的河水都要變成石油，它的塵土必變成硫磺，它的地土要變成燒著的石油，

你們看見了，就心裡快樂，你們的骨頭必像嫩草一樣長起來，耶和華的手必向他的僕人顯現，他必向他的仇敵發怒。

因為戰士在戰爭喧嚷中所穿的靴，和輥在血中的袍，都必燒毀，成了燒火的燃料。

眾民必像燃燒的石灰，又像被割下的荊棘，在火中焚燒。

耶和華啊！要到幾時呢？你要永遠懷怒嗎？你的憤恨要像火焚燒嗎？

所有過路的人啊！你們毫不在意嗎？你們要細察要觀看，有沒有痛苦像我所受的痛苦，就是耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我所受的痛苦。他從高天降火，使火進入我的骨頭裡（按照《馬索拉文本》，“他從高天降火，使火進入我的骨頭裡”作“他從高天降火進入我的骨頭裡，他管理火”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）。他設置網羅絆我的腳，使我退去。他使我孤單淒涼，終日愁煩。

“我一直在觀看，看見有些寶座安放好了，萬古常存者就坐上去；他的衣服潔白如雪，他的頭髮純淨像羊毛。他的寶座是火燄，寶座的輪子是烈火。

大山在他面前震動，小山也都融化；大地在他面前廢去，世界和所有住在世上的，也都這樣。在他盛怒之下，誰能站得住呢？他的烈怒誰能受得了呢？他的忿怒像火一般噴出來，磐石在他面前都崩裂了。

因此，主萬軍之耶和華必打發令人消瘦的病臨到亞述王肥壯的軍人中間，在他的榮耀之下必燃起火燄，如同火燒一樣。以色列的光必變成火，他的聖者必成為火燄；在一日之間把亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒與吞滅。

這樣，人從日落之處必敬畏耶和華的名，從日出之地也必敬畏他的榮耀，因為他必像狹急的河流沖來，耶和華的氣必向他催逼。

亞述啊！我怒氣的棍子，有禍了。他們手中拿著我忿怒的杖。
