For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say,“ Read this, please,” they will answer,“ I can’t; it is sealed.”

For you, this whole vision is like words that are sealed up in a scroll. Suppose you give it to someone who can read. And suppose you say,“ Please read this for us.” Then they’ll answer,“ I can’t. It’s sealed up.”

And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying,“ Read this,” he says,“ I cannot, for it is sealed.”

All the future events in this vision are like a sealed book to them. When you give it to those who can read, they will say,“ We can’t read it because it is sealed.”

And all vision is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I cannot, for it is sealed:

我見居於座者、右手擎卷、內外書文、緘以七印、又見有力之使者、大聲呼曰、誰堪啟卷而揭其印乎、在天與地暨地下、無能啟卷、或從而視之、我即大哭、因未遇堪啟其卷、或視之者也、長老之一遂謂我曰、勿哭、猶大支之獅、大衛之根、已獲勝、以啟此卷、及其七印、我則見座中及四生物、與諸長老中、有羔立焉、如曾見殺、有七角七目、即上帝遣於天下之七神、彼前取卷、自居座者之右手、既取之、則四生物與二十四長老、伏於羔前、各執琴與金盂滿以香、即諸聖徒之祈禱、皆唱新歌曰、爾堪取卷而啟其印、因爾見殺、曾以爾血、自各族各方各民各國之中、購人以歸上帝、
