He will be a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

He will help those who are fair when they judge. He will give strength to those who turn back their enemies at the city gate.

He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay.He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Gather before me seventy men who are recognized as elders and leaders of Israel. Bring them to the Tabernacle to stand there with you.I will come down and talk to you there. I will take some of the Spirit that is upon you, and I will put the Spirit upon them also. They will bear the burden of the people along with you, so you will not have to carry it alone.

For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit.

For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude
