Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him?[ or] is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?

耶和華擊之、豈若擊彼擊之者乎、其見殺也、豈若殺之者之見殺乎、

雅各之家、雖遭譴責、不若敵之譴責尤深、雖被殺戮、不若敵之殺戮更慘、

雅各被主譴責、豈如其敵被主譴責、雖遇殺戮、豈如其敵所遇之殺戮、

Has the Lord struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

The Lord struck down those who struck down Israel. But he hasn’t punished Israel as much. The Lord killed those who killed many of his people. But he hasn’t punished his people as much.

Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or have they been slain as their slayers were slain?

Has the Lord struck Israel as he struck her enemies? Has he punished her as he punished them?

Did the LORD strike Israel as he struck the one who struck Israel? Was Israel killed like those killed by the LORD?

Like the striking of Him who has struck them, has He struck them? Or like the slaughter of His slain, have they been slain?

Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him? Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?

Hath he smitten them as he smote those that smote them? or are they slain according to the slaughter of them that were slain by them?

Did the Lord strike Israel as He struck the one who struck Israel? Was he killed like those killed by Him?

Has the LORD struck down Israel like he did their oppressors? Has Israel been killed like their enemies?

Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or are they killed like those who killed them were killed?

Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they[ were] all dead corpses.So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

For I[ am] with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise[ is] incurable,[ and] thy wound[ is] grievous.[ There is] none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity;[ because] thy sins were increased.Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow[ is] incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity:[ because] thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

And behold at eveningtide trouble;[ and] before the morning he[ is] not. This[ is] the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah[ were] oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.Their Redeemer[ is] strong; the LORD of hosts[ is] his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee,[ that] no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

[ There is] no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness[ was] excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof[ was] terrible.This image’s head[ was] of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet[ that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour[ cities] thereof, saith the LORD;[ so] shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

And it shall come to pass in that day,[ that] the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.The remnant shall return,[ even] the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea,[ yet] a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
