I, the Lord, will watch over it, watering it carefully. Day and night I will watch so no one can harm it.

斯園我所眷顧、恆加灌溉、防守謹嚴、無間朝夕、恐遭毀伐、

主云、我耶和華保守此園、時時灌溉、晝夜守護、恐有毀之者、

I, the Lord, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.

“ I am the Lord. I watch over my vineyard. I water it all the time. I guard it day and night. I do it so no one can harm it.

I, the Lord, am its keeper; every moment I water it. Lest anyone punish it, I keep it night and day;

I am the LORD, who watches over it to water it regularly. So that no one disturbs it, I watch over it night and day.

The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well watered garden, like an ever flowing spring.

“ He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.

He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.

And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David will be a prince among my people. I, the Lord, have spoken!

The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland.The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude

And when my Temple is among them forever, the nations will know that I am the Lord, who makes Israel holy.”

Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me.

“ I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

“ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep.

“ There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out,‘ Destroy them!’So Israel will live in safety, prosperous Jacob in security, in a land of grain and new wine, while the heavens drop down dew.How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your protecting shield and your triumphant sword! Your enemies will cringe before you, and you will stomp on their backs!”

“ I hereby confirm my covenant with you and your descendants,

I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.

I will make it a wild place where the vines are not pruned and the ground is not hoed, a place overgrown with briers and thorns. I will command the clouds to drop no rain on it.

“ Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die.

I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done what I said. Yes, the Lord has spoken!’”

For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you,‘ Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the Lord, your Redeemer. I am the Holy One of Israel.’You will be a new threshing instrument with many sharp teeth. You will tear your enemies apart, making chaff of mountains.You will toss them into the air, and the wind will blow them all away; a whirlwind will scatter them. Then you will rejoice in the Lord. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.“ When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the Lord, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never abandon them.I will open up rivers for them on the high plateaus. I will give them fountains of water in the valleys. I will fill the desert with pools of water. Rivers fed by springs will flow across the parched ground.I will plant trees in the barren desert— cedar, acacia, myrtle, olive, cypress, fir, and pine.

“ The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me,for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.The Father and I are one.”

God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it.

Powerful kings and mighty nations will satisfy your every need, as though you were a child nursing at the breast of a queen. You will know at last that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel.
