Lord, your people who have died will live again. Their bodies will rise from the dead. Let those who lie in the grave wake up and shout for joy. You give life, Lord, like the dew of the morning. So the earth will give up its dead people.

Many of those who sleep in the dusty ground will awake– some to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.

The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and placed me in the midst of the valley, and it was full of bones.He made me walk all around among them. I realized there were a great many bones in the valley and they were very dry.He said to me,“ Son of man, can these bones live?” I said to him,“ Sovereign Lord, you know.”Then he said to me,“ Prophesy over these bones, and tell them:‘ Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.This is what the sovereign LORD says to these bones: Look, I am about to infuse breath into you and you will live.I will put tendons on you and muscles over you and will cover you with skin; I will put breath in you and you will live. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”So I prophesied as I was commanded. There was a sound when I prophesied– I heard a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to bone.As I watched, I saw tendons on them, then muscles appeared, and skin covered over them from above, but there was no breath in them.He said to me,“ Prophesy to the breath,– prophesy, son of man– and say to the breath:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these corpses so that they may live.’”So I prophesied as I was commanded, and the breath came into them; they lived and stood on their feet, an extremely great army.Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying,‘ Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’Therefore prophesy, and tell them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Look, I am about to open your graves and will raise you from your graves, my people. I will bring you to the land of Israel.Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and raise you from your graves, my people.I will place my breath in you and you will live; I will give you rest in your own land. Then you will know that I am the LORD– I have spoken and I will act, declares the LORD.’”

For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says:“ Awake, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!”

And tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had died were raised.

Will I deliver them from the power of Sheol? No, I will not! Will I redeem them from death? No, I will not! O Death, bring on your plagues! O Sheol, bring on your destruction! My eyes will not show any compassion!

He will restore us in a very short time; he will heal us in a little while, so that we may live in his presence.

he will swallow up death permanently. The sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from every face, and remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. Indeed, the LORD has announced it!

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.For we tell you this by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep.

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened– the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

( The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.) This is the first resurrection.Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

“ Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voiceand will come out– the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation.

“ Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor of the LORD shines on you!For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the LORD shines on you; his splendor appears over you.

Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies,and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to him.

Though you have allowed me to experience much trouble and distress, revive me once again! Bring me up once again from the depths of the earth!

I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily, he will send down his roots like a cedar of Lebanon.

‘ for there will be a peaceful time of sowing, the vine will produce its fruit and the ground its yield, and the skies will rain down dew. Then I will allow the remnant of my people to possess all these things.

Their corpses will lie in the street of the great city that is symbolically called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was also crucified.For three and a half days those from every people, tribe, nation, and language will look at their corpses, because they will not permit them to be placed in a tomb.And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate, even sending gifts to each other, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.But after three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and tremendous fear seized those who were watching them.

I have a hope in God( a hope that these men themselves accept too) that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O Zion! Put on your beautiful clothes, O Jerusalem, holy city! For uncircumcised and unclean pagans will no longer invade you.Shake off the dirt! Get up, captive Jerusalem! Take off the iron chains around your neck, O captive daughter Zion!

The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery; my tongue sticks to my gums. You set me in the dust of death.

Wake up! Wake up! Get up, O Jerusalem! You drank from the cup the LORD passed to you, which was full of his anger! You drained dry the goblet full of intoxicating wine.

My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death,

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered that it be given to him.

My teaching will drop like the rain, my sayings will drip like the dew, as rain drops upon the grass, and showers upon new growth.

Now no shrub of the field had yet grown on the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.Springs would well up from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.

Israel lives in safety, the fountain of Jacob is quite secure, in a land of grain and new wine; indeed, its heavens rain down dew.

Of Joseph he said: May the LORD bless his land with the harvest produced by the sky, by the dew, and by the depths crouching beneath;

Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.

My roots reach the water, and the dew lies on my branches all night long.
