Lord, they went to You in their distress; they poured out whispered prayers because Your discipline fell on them.

主歟、民遭患難、則仰念主、主加之懲罰、則傾心以祈求主、

Lord, they came to you in their distress; when you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer.

Lord, when your people were suffering, they came to you. When you punished them, they could barely whisper a prayer.

O Lord, in distress they sought you; they poured out a whispered prayer when your discipline was upon them.

Lord, in distress we searched for you. We prayed beneath the burden of your discipline.

LORD, they went to you in their distress; they poured out whispered prayers because your discipline fell on them.

Lord, in trouble they have visited You, They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

O LORD, in distress they looked for you; they uttered incantations because of your discipline.

I will depart and return to My place until they recognize their guilt and seek My face; they will search for Me in their distress.

You residents of Lebanon, nestled among the cedars, how you will groan when labor pains come on you, agony like a woman in labor.

Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor.

But from there, you will search for the Lord your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul.When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, you will return to the Lord your God in later days and obey Him.

I remember this as I pour out my heart: how I walked with many, leading the festive procession to the house of God, with joyful and thankful shouts.

They said to him,“ This is what Hezekiah says:‘ Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace, for children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

They do not cry to Me from their hearts; rather, they wail on their beds. They slash themselves for grain and new wine; they turn away from Me.

and when they come to their senses in the land where they were deported and repent and petition You in their captors’ land, saying:“ We have sinned and done wrong; we have been wicked,”and when they return to You with their whole mind and heart in the land of their captivity where they were taken captive, and when they pray in the direction of their land that You gave their ancestors, and the city You have chosen, and toward the temple I have built for Your name,

As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed and repent.
