願他的後人斷絕，名字被塗抹，不傳於下代！

仇敵到了盡頭；他們被毀壞，直到永遠。你拆毀他們的城邑，連他們的名號都歸於無有。

他大聲喊着說：巴比倫大城傾倒了！傾倒了！成了鬼魔的住處和各樣污穢之靈的巢穴，並各樣污穢可憎之雀鳥的巢穴。因為列國都被她邪淫大怒的酒傾倒了。地上的君王與她行淫；地上的客商因她奢華太過就發了財。

義人的紀念被稱讚；惡人的名字必朽爛。

在那裏，你們必事奉人手所造的神，就是用木石造成、不能看、不能聽、不能吃、不能聞的神。

到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們怎樣行呢？你們向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的榮耀存留何處呢？

雕刻的偶像，人將它刻出來，有甚麼益處呢？鑄造的偶像就是虛謊的師傅。製造者倚靠這啞巴偶像有甚麼益處呢？對木偶說：醒起！對啞巴石像說：起來！那人有禍了！這個還能教訓人嗎？看哪，是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息。惟耶和華在他的聖殿中；全地的人都當在他面前肅敬靜默。

「起來！帶着小孩子和他母親往以色列地去，因為要害小孩子性命的人已經死了。」

惟獨你被拋棄，不得入你的墳墓，好像可憎的枝子，以被殺的人為衣，就是被刀刺透，墜落坑中石頭那裏的；你又像被踐踏的屍首一樣。你不得與君王同葬；因為你敗壞你的國，殺戮你的民。惡人後裔的名，必永不提說。先人既有罪孽，就要預備殺戮他的子孫，免得他們興起來，得了遍地，在世上修滿城邑。萬軍之耶和華說：我必興起攻擊他們，將巴比倫的名號和所餘剩的人，連子帶孫一併剪除。這是耶和華說的。

惟有我，是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人？怕那要變如草的世人？卻忘記鋪張諸天、立定地基、創造你的耶和華？又因欺壓者圖謀毀滅要發的暴怒，整天害怕，其實那欺壓者的暴怒在哪裏呢？

當日，耶和華這樣拯救以色列人脫離埃及人的手，以色列人看見埃及人的死屍都在海邊了。

死人要復活，屍首要興起。睡在塵埃的啊，要醒起歌唱！因你的甘露好像菜蔬上的甘露，地也要交出死人來。

這是頭一次的復活。（其餘的死人還沒有復活，直等那一千年完了。）

我看見那獸和地上的君王，並他們的眾軍都聚集，要與騎白馬的並他的軍兵爭戰。那獸被擒拿；那在獸面前曾行奇事、迷惑受獸印記和拜獸像之人的假先知，也與獸同被擒拿。他們兩個就活活地被扔在燒着硫磺的火湖裏；其餘的被騎白馬者口中出來的劍殺了；飛鳥都吃飽了他們的肉。
