有人對你們說：“要求問那些交鬼的和行巫術的，就是那些喃喃細語的人。”一族之民不應當求問自己的神嗎？他們怎能為活人求問死人呢？

願他的後人被除滅，願他們的名字在下一代被塗抹。

仇敵的結局到了，他們遭毀滅，直到永遠；你拆毀他們的城鎮，使它們湮沒無聞。

他用強有力的聲音呼喊說：“傾倒了！大巴比倫傾倒了！成了鬼魔的住處，各樣污靈的監獄，一切污穢可憎之雀鳥的牢籠，因為各國都喝她淫亂烈怒的酒醉了；地上的君王與她行淫，世上的商人因她奢華揮霍就發了財。”

義人的名必蒙稱讚，惡人的名字卻必腐朽。

在那裡你們必事奉人手所做的神，就是用木頭石頭做成的，不能看、不能聽、不能吃、不能聞的神。

到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方來到，那時你們要怎樣行呢？你們可以向誰逃奔求助呢？你們可以把你們的財寶撇在哪裡呢？

雕刻的像有甚麼用處呢？不過是匠人雕刻出來的；鑄造的像、虛假的教師，有甚麼用處呢？匠人竟倚靠自己所做，那不能說話的假神。你這對木頭說“起來”，對啞石說“醒吧”的人，有禍了！它怎能教導你呢？看哪！它包金鑲銀，裡面卻全無氣息。然而耶和華在他的聖殿裡，全地當在他面前肅靜。

說：“那些要殺害這孩子的人已經死了。起來，帶著孩子和他母親回以色列地去吧。”

但你要從你的墳墓中被逐出，好像一根被厭棄的樹枝，你被那些遭刀劍所殺的人掩蓋，就是那些被拋到坑中石頭那裡的人。你就像一具遭人踐踏的屍體。你必不得與別的君王同葬，因為你敗壞了你的國，殺戮了你的人民；願那些惡人的後裔永遠不被人提說。因為他們的祖宗犯了罪孽，你們要為他的子孫預備屠殺之處；不要讓他們興起來，佔有地土，在世上布滿城鎮。”萬軍之耶和華說：“我必興起攻擊他們，把巴比倫的名號、所剩餘的人，以及後裔子孫，都一同剪除。”這是耶和華說的。

“我，我耶和華是安慰你們的；你是誰，竟怕那會死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？你忘記了造你的耶和華，就是那展開諸天，奠定大地的根基的；又因那欺壓者準備行毀滅的時候所發的烈怒，你就終日不住懼怕呢？其實那欺壓者的烈怒在哪裡呢？

這樣，耶和華就在那一天把以色列人從埃及人的手裡拯救了出來；以色列人看見埃及人都死在海邊。

屬你的死人要活過來，他們的屍體要起來；那些住在塵土裡的必醒起，並且歡呼。因為你的甘露像早晨的甘露般臨到，使地交出離世的人來。

其餘的死人還沒有復活，等到那一千年完了。這是頭一次的復活。

我看見那獸和地上的眾王，以及他們的眾軍，都集合起來，要跟那騎白馬的和他的眾軍作戰。那獸被捉住了；連同在獸面前用奇事迷惑人，使他們接受獸的記號，並且拜獸像的那假先知，也一起被捉住了。他們兩個就活活地被拋在燒著硫磺的火湖裡去。其餘的人都被那位騎白馬的口中所吐出來的劍殺了。所有飛鳥都吃飽了他們的肉。
