They will stretch out their hands in it, as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim. God will bring down their pride despite the cleverness of their hands.

They will try to swim their way out of it. They will spread out their hands in it, just as swimmers spread out their hands to swim. But God will bring down Moab’s pride. None of their skill will help them.

And he will spread out his hands in the midst of it as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim, but the Lord will lay low his pompous pride together with the skill of his hands.

God will push down Moab’s people as a swimmer pushes down water with his hands. He will end their pride and all their evil works.

He will spread out his arms in the middle of it, as a swimmer spreads out his arms to swim. His pride will be brought low, along with the trickery of his hands.

And He will spread out His hands in their midst As a swimmer reaches out to swim, And He will bring down their pride Together with the trickery of their hands.

And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim; but Jehovah will lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands.

He will spread out his arms in the middle of it, as a swimmer spreads out his arms to swim. His pride will be brought low, along with the trickery of his hands.

And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth[ his hands] to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

Moab will spread out its hands in the middle of it, just as a swimmer spreads his hands to swim; the LORD will bring down Moab’s pride as it spreads its hands.

He will spread out his hands in the middle of it, like one who swims spreads out hands to swim, but his pride will be humbled together with the craft of his hands.

For this reason the anger of the Lord has burned against His people, And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them. And the mountains quaked, and their corpses lay like refuse in the middle of the streets. Despite all this, His anger is not spent, But His hand is still stretched out.

This is the plan devised against the entire earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations.

The proud look of humanity will be brought low, And the arrogance of people will be humbled; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

But now the Lord has spoken, saying,“ Within three years, as a hired worker would count them, the glory of Moab will become contemptible along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent.”

We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury; His idle boasts are false.

Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying,

Moab will be destroyed from being a people Because he has become arrogant toward the Lord.

Like heat in a dry land, You subdue the uproar of foreigners; Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.

Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the plunder with the strong, Because He poured out His life unto death, And was counted with wrongdoers; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the wrongdoers.

I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will make what he has swallowed come out of his mouth; And the nations will no longer stream toward him. Even the wall of Babylon has fallen down!

So I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their wrongdoing; I will also put an end to the audacity of the proud And humiliate the arrogance of the tyrants.

I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just; and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.”

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

Behold, the Lord, the God of armies, will lop off the branches with terrifying power; Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down, And those who are lofty will be brought low.

“ Behold, I am against you, arrogant one,” Declares the Lord God of armies,“ For your day has come, The time when I will punish you.The arrogant one will stumble and fall With no one to raise him up; And I will set fire to his cities, And it will devour all his surroundings.”

When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.To the extent that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart,‘ I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’For this reason in one day her plagues will come, plague and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slaves, and small and great.”And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army.And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone.

We have heard of the pride of Moab— he is very proud— Of his haughtiness, his pride, his arrogance, and his self exaltation.

The Lord says to my Lord:“ Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”The Lord will stretch out Your strong scepter from Zion, saying,“ Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”Your people will volunteer freely on the day of Your power; In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew.The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind,“ You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.”The Lord is at Your right hand; He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath.He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country.He will drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head.

Ask it of Me, and I will certainly give the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.’ ”Now then, you kings, use insight; Let yourselves be instructed, you judges of the earth.Serve the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling.Kiss the Son, that He not be angry and you perish on the way, For His wrath may be kindled quickly. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
