“要召集弓箭手去攻擊巴比倫，要召集所有拉弓的；要在巴比倫的四圍安營攻擊它，不容一人逃脫。要照著它的所作所為報應它，它怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待它；因它狂傲地敵對耶和華，與以色列的聖者為敵。

你必唱出這首詩歌來諷刺巴比倫王，說：“欺壓人的，怎麼止息了呢！強暴怎麼止住了呢！

彼勒俯伏，尼波彎腰；巴比倫人的偶像馱在走獸和牲口上。你們所抬的現在都成了重擔，成了疲乏的牲畜身上的重負。它們一同彎腰、俯伏，不能保護重負，它們自己反倒被擄去了。
