他像狮子吼叫，说：“主啊，我白日常站在望楼上，整夜立在我守望所。”

他如狮子般吼叫：“主啊，我白天常站在瞭望楼，彻夜立在我的瞭望台。”

他如狮子般吼叫：“主啊，我白天常站在瞭望楼，彻夜立在我的瞭望台。”

守望的人大喊：“我主啊，我在瞭望塔上日夜观看。

守望的人大喊：「我主啊，我在瞭望塔上日夜觀看。

於是那觀看者喊着說：『主啊，我終日不斷地在瞭望樓上站着，我整夜無停地在我的守望所上立着。

後來，守望者呼喊：「主啊，我白天一直站在守望臺，每夜立在我的哨所，

其人呼聲若獅、曰、主歟、我旦晝常立於戍樓、永夜見置於巡地、

大聲呼曰、彼來若獅、我主與、余巡守已永朝矣、屹立已永夕矣、

呼曰、彼來若獅、彼來若獅或作有獅來矣我主歟、我白晝常立於望樓、終夜立於我守望之所、

And the lookout shouted,“ Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; every night I stay at my post.

“ My master!” the guard shouts back.“ Day after day I stand here on the lookout tower. Every night I stay here on duty.

Then he who saw cried out:“ Upon a watchtower I stand, O Lord, continually by day, and at my post I am stationed whole nights.

Then the watchman called out,“ Day after day I have stood on the watchtower, my lord. Night after night I have remained at my post.

Then the lookout reported,“ Lord, I stand on the watchtower all day, and I stay at my post all night.

Then the lookout called,“ Lord, I stand continually by day on the watchtower, And I am stationed every night at my guard post.

Then he cried,“ A lion, my Lord! I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime; I have sat at my post every night.

And he cried as a lion: O Lord, I stand continually upon the watch- tower in the day- time, and am set in my ward whole nights;

Then the lookout reported,“ Lord, I stand on the watchtower all day, and I stay at my post all night.

And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:

Then the guard cries out:“ On the watchtower, O sovereign master, I stand all day long; at my post I am stationed every night.

He cried like a lion:“ Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.

我要站在哨崗，立在城樓，留心看耶和華在我裡面說甚麼，怎樣使我答覆自己的怨訴。耶和華回答我說：“把異象寫下，清楚地記在泥版上，使讀的人容易明白，

我在床上記念你，我整夜默想你。

看哪！獅子怎樣從約旦河邊的叢林走上來，攻擊常綠的牧場，照樣，我必在眨眼之間把以東趕走，使它離開這地；誰蒙揀選，我就派誰治理這地。誰能和我相比呢？誰可以把我傳來審訊呢？哪一個牧人能在我面前站立得住呢？”

他的守望者都是瞎眼的，都沒有知識；他們都是啞巴狗，不能吠；只會作夢、躺臥，貪愛睡覺。

你們要謹守、警醒。你們的仇敵魔鬼，好像吼叫的獅子走來走去，尋找可以吞吃的人；

如果不是耶和華建造房屋，建造的人就徒然勞苦；如果不是耶和華看守城池，看守的人就徒然警醒。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）

他們的吼叫像母獅，他們的咆哮如幼獅；他們咆哮，攫取獵物，把它叼去，無人援救。

看哪！獅子怎樣從約旦河邊的叢林走上來，攻擊常綠的牧場，照樣，我必在眨眼之間把巴比倫趕走，使它離開這地；誰蒙揀選，我就派誰治理這地。誰能和我相比呢？誰可以把我傳來審訊呢？哪一個牧人能在我面前站立得住呢？”

耶路撒冷啊！我在你的城牆上設立了守望的人；他們晝夜都不緘默；提耶和華之名的啊！你們不要靜止。

獅子從牠的密林中上來了，毀壞列國的已經動身，從他的本處出發，為要使你的地荒涼，使你的城市破毀，無人居住。

他像獅子離開了洞穴，他們的國土實在變成荒野，因為欺壓人的刀劍（“刀劍”有古抄本作“猛烈”），和他猛烈的怒氣臨到他們。
