他们摆设筵席，铺张地毡，又吃又喝。领袖们，起来吧！用油抹净盾牌。

筵席已摆设，地毯已铺上，人们又吃又喝——首领们哪，起来！用油擦抹盾牌！

筵席已擺設，地毯已鋪上，人們又吃又喝——首領們哪，起來！用油擦抹盾牌！

以下是王發神諭說的，萬軍之永恆主耶和華是他的名：我必使巴比倫的首領和智慧人、巡撫和省長、以及她的勇士、都沉醉，都睡長覺，永不醒起。

若按人的說法，我當日在以弗所跟野獸格鬥，那於我又有甚麼益處呢？死人如果不能得甦活起來，那『我們喫喫喝喝吧，因為明天就死了！』

『你們要把箭頭磨光，把全副武器裝束起來；因為永恆主定意擊打巴比倫，將她毁滅，故此永恆主激動了瑪代王的心；因為這是永恆主的報復，為他的殿而行的報復。

伯沙撒王為他的一千大臣擺設了盛筵，跟這一千人對面喝酒。當伯沙撒喝酒歡暢的時候，他吩咐人將他父親尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷裏面殿堂中所掠取的金銀器皿拿來，王和大臣王后妃嬪好用這些器皿來喝酒。於是人就把從耶路撒冷裏面上帝殿中、就是殿堂中、所掠取的金銀器皿拿了來；王和大臣王后妃嬪就用這些器皿來喝酒。他們喝酒，稱頌了金銀銅鐵木頭石頭的神。立刻有人手的指頭伸出來，在王家宮殿的粉牆上、燈臺相對的地方、寫字；王見了寫字的手掌。

你們要在掃光的山上豎起旌旗，向戰士揚聲招手，叫他們進入權貴之門。

我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；『我必親自領導你，使道路平直；銅門我必打破，鐵閂我必砍斷；我必將暗中的財寶和隱密處的寶藏賜給你，使你知道是我永恆主、以色列之上帝、呼喚你的名召了你。

『你們要在境內豎起旌旗。在列邦中吹號角，使列邦行聖禮備戰來攻擊巴比倫，將亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿這些國召集來攻擊她；又派大元帥來擊打她，使馬匹上來像翅膀林立的蝻子。要使列國都行聖禮備戰來攻擊她哦，使瑪代王和她的巡撫跟省長、以及在她轄下的各地、都備戰來攻擊她。

但是你看，人倒歡躍喜樂，宰牛殺羊，喫肉喝酒，說：『只管喫喝吧！因為明天我們就死了！』然而萬軍之永恆主卻親自附耳啓示我，說：『這罪孽即到你們死了也不能得赦除』：這是主萬軍之永恆主說的。

看吧，我必激動瑪代人來攻擊他們；瑪代人不看重銀子，不喜愛金子。少年人的弓、他們必折斷，婦人所生的、他們不憐憫，他們的眼不顧惜小孩。
