Then some men from Israel’s elders came to me and sat down in front of me.The word of the LORD came to me:“ Son of man, these men have erected their idols in their hearts and placed the obstacle leading to their iniquity right before their faces. Kill all her soldiers! Let them be slaughtered! They are doomed, for their day of reckoning has come, the time for them to be punished.”

“ The LORD has told you people who remain in Judah,‘ Do not go to Egypt.’ Be very sure of this: I warn you here and now.You are making a fatal mistake. The time has come; the day has struck! The customer should not rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for divine wrath comes against their whole crowd.

In the evening there is sudden terror; by morning they vanish. This is the fate of those who try to plunder us, the destiny of those who try to loot us!

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.
