守望者曰、旦將至、夜亦至、欲問則問、其復來乎、○

應之曰、旭日將至、昏夜亦至、爾欲詰予、必先悔爾心、乃可。○

守望者曰、清晨將至、昏夜復至、爾若欲問可問、越時復來、○

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.”

The guard answers,“ Morning is coming, but the night will return. If you want to ask again, come back and ask.”

The watchman says:“ Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but night will soon return. If you wish to ask again, then come back and ask.”

The watchman said,“ Morning has come, and also night. If you want to ask, ask! Come back again.”

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what are we to do?”Peter said to them,“ Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent,because He has set a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all people by raising Him from the dead.”Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some began to scoff, but others said,“ We shall hear from you again concerning this.”

“ This is what the Lord God says:‘ A disaster, a unique disaster, behold, it is coming!An end is coming; the end has come! It has awakened against you; behold, it has come!Your doom has come to you, you inhabitant of the land. The time has come, the day is near— panic rather than joyful shouting on the mountains.

Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put in front of their faces the stumbling block of their wrongdoing. Should I let Myself be consulted by them at all?Therefore speak to them and tell them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Anyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, puts in front of his face the stumbling block of his wrongdoing, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will let Myself answer him in the matter in view of the multitude of his idols,in order to take hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who have turned away from Me due to all their idols.” ’“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying,“ May we know what this new teaching is which you are proclaiming?For you are bringing some strange things to our ears; so we want to know what these things mean.”

Put all her bulls to the sword; Let them go down to the slaughter! Woe be upon them, for their day has come, The time of their punishment.

The Lord has spoken to you, you remnant of Judah,“ Do not go to Egypt!” You know for certain that I have admonished you today.For you have only deceived yourselves; for it is you who sent me to the Lord your God, saying,“ Pray for us to the Lord our God; and whatever the Lord our God says, tell us so, and we will do it.”So I have told you today, but you have not obeyed the Lord your God in whatever He has sent me to tell you.And now you shall know for certain that you will die by the sword, by famine, or by plague in the place where you desire to go to reside.

‘ Behold, the day! Behold, it is coming! Your doom has gone forth; the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed.

“ Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord God.“ Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you.Hurl away from you all your offenses which you have committed and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why should you die, house of Israel?For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God.“ Therefore, repent and live!”

The time has come, the day has arrived. Let neither the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn; for wrath is against all their multitude.

At evening time, behold, there is terror! Before morning they are gone. This will be the fate of those who plunder us And the lot of those who pillage us.

Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
