守望者曰、旦將至、夜亦至、欲問則問、其復來乎、○

應之曰、旭日將至、昏夜亦至、爾欲詰予、必先悔爾心、乃可。○

守望者曰、清晨將至、昏夜復至、爾若欲問可問、越時復來、○

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.”

The guard answers,“ Morning is coming, but the night will return. If you want to ask again, come back and ask.”

The watchman says:“ Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but night will soon return. If you wish to ask again, then come back and ask.”

The watchman says,“ Morning comes but also night. If you would inquire, inquire; Come back again.”

The watchman said,“ The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; Return! Come back!”

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: turn ye, come.

The watchman said,“ Morning has come, and also night. If you want to ask, ask! Come back again.”

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but then night. If you want to ask, ask; come back again.”

When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him, but others said,“ We’d like to hear from you again about this.”

This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, one disaster after another is coming!An end has come; the end has come! It has awakened against you. Look, it is coming!Doom has come on you, inhabitants of the land. The time has come; the day is near. There will be panic on the mountains and not celebration.

Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.Then the word of the LORD came to me:“ Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and have put their sinful stumbling blocks in front of themselves. Should I actually let them inquire of me?“ Therefore, speak to them and tell them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: When anyone from the house of Israel sets up idols in his heart and puts his sinful stumbling block in front of himself, and then comes to the prophet, I, the LORD, will answer him appropriately. I will answer him according to his many idols,so that I may take hold of the house of Israel by their hearts. They are all estranged from me because of their idols.’“ Therefore, say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Repent and turn away from your idols; turn your faces away from all your detestable things.

They took him and brought him to the Areopagus, and said,“ May we learn about this new teaching you are presenting?Because what you say sounds strange to us, and we want to know what these things mean.”

Put all her young bulls to the sword; let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them because their day has come, the time of their punishment.

The LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah:‘ Don’t go to Egypt.’ Know for certain that I have warned you today!You have gone astray at the cost of your lives because you are the ones who sent me to the LORD your God, saying,‘ Pray to the LORD our God on our behalf, and as for all that the LORD our God says, tell it to us, and we’ll act accordingly.’For I have told you today, but you have not obeyed the LORD your God in everything he has sent me to tell you.Now therefore, know for certain that by the sword, famine, and plague you will die in the place where you desired to go to stay for a while.”

Here is the day! Here it comes! Doom is on its way. The rod has blossomed; arrogance has bloomed.

“ Therefore, house of Israel, I will judge each one of you according to his ways.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.“ Repent and turn from all your rebellious acts, so they will not become a sinful stumbling block to you.Throw off all the transgressions you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, house of Israel?For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.“ So repent and live!

The time has come; the day has arrived. Let the buyer not rejoice and the seller not mourn, for wrath is on her whole crowd.

In the evening— sudden terror! Before morning— it is gone! This is the fate of those who plunder us and the lot of those who ravage us.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.
