亞述王也必照樣把埃及的俘虜和古實被放逐的人帶走，無論老少，都露體赤足，露出下體，使埃及蒙羞。

約書亞把這些話都寫在神的律法書上；又拿一塊大石頭，立在耶和華聖所旁邊的橡樹下。約書亞對全體人民說：“看哪，這塊石頭可以向我們作證，因為它聽見了耶和華對我們所說的一切話；所以這塊石頭要向你們作證，免得你們否認你們的神。”

約哈斯懇求耶和華，耶和華垂聽他的禱告，因為看見了以色列所受的壓迫，就是亞蘭王對他們的壓迫。耶和華就賜給以色列一位拯救者，他救他們脫離亞蘭王的手，於是以色列人可以在自己的家安居，好像以前一樣。

等候那有福的盼望，就是我們偉大的神，救主耶穌基督榮耀的顯現。

但耶和華這樣說：“就是勇士所俘擄的，也可以奪回，強暴者所搶去的，也可以救出來；與你相爭的，我必與他們相爭；你的兒女，我卻要拯救。我要使那些欺壓你的人，吃自己的肉；他們必喝自己的血醉倒，好像喝了甜酒一樣；那麼所有的人都必知道，我耶和華是你的拯救者，是你的救贖主，是雅各的大能者。”

現在我在這裡作甚麼呢？”耶和華說：“我的子民毫無代價被取去；統治他們的人大肆咆哮。”耶和華說：“我的名終日不住被藐視。

而是為了在你們和我們中間，也在我們的後代中間作證據，使我們也可以在耶和華面前用燔祭、別的祭和平安祭事奉耶和華，免得你們的子孫將來對我們的子孫說：你們與耶和華無分了。’因此我們說：‘將來有人對我們，或是對我們的後代這樣說，我們就可以回答：你們看我們列祖所築的壇，是耶和華的祭壇的模式，這並不是用來獻燔祭，也不是用來獻別的祭，而是在我們和你們中間作證據。’

在患難的日子，你呼求我。我必搭救你，你也必尊敬我。”

你們述說吧！提出理由吧！讓他們彼此商議吧！誰從古時使人聽見這事呢？誰從上古把這事述說出來呢？不是我耶和華嗎？除了我以外，再沒有神，我是公義的神，又是拯救者；除了我以外，並沒有別的神。全地的人哪！你們都要歸向我，都要得救。因為我是神，再沒有別的神。

於是耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中擊殺了十八萬五千人；到了早晨，有人起來，所見的都是死屍。
