The land of Judah will terrify Egypt; whenever Judah is mentioned, Egypt will tremble because of what the LORD of Armies has planned against it.

And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the Lord Almighty is planning against them.

The people of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians. Everyone in Egypt who hears the name of Judah will be terrified. That’s because of what the Lord who rules over all is planning to do to them.

And the land of Judah will become a terror to the Egyptians. Everyone to whom it is mentioned will fear because of the purpose that the Lord of hosts has purposed against them.

Just to speak the name of Israel will terrorize them, for the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has laid out his plans against them.

The land of Judah will become a cause of shame to Egypt; everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in great fear because of the plan of the Lord of armies which He is making against them.

And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which He has determined against it.

And the land of Judah shall become a terror unto Egypt; every one to whom mention is made thereof shall be afraid, because of the purpose of Jehovah of hosts, which he purposeth against it.

The LORD of Armies has sworn: As I have purposed, so it will be; as I have planned it, so it will happen.

All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and he does what he wants with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can block his hand or say to him,“ What have you done?”

In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, King Sennacherib of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.

“‘ Then all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am the LORD, for they have been a staff made of reed to the house of Israel.When Israel grasped you by the hand, you splintered, tearing all their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you shattered and made all their hips unsteady.

Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah at Tahpanhes:“ Pick up some large stones and set them in the mortar of the brick pavement that is at the opening of Pharaoh’s palace at Tahpanhes. Do this in the sight of the Judean menand tell them,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will place his throne on these stones that I have embedded, and he will pitch his pavilion over them.He will come and strike down the land of Egypt— those destined for death, to death; those destined for captivity, to captivity; and those destined for the sword, to the sword.I will kindle a fire in the temples of Egypt’s gods, and he will burn them and take them captive. He will clean the land of Egypt as a shepherd picks lice off his clothes, and he will leave there unscathed.He will smash the sacred pillars of the sun temple in the land of Egypt and burn the temples of the Egyptian gods.’”

Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah only few in number, and the whole remnant of Judah, the ones going to the land of Egypt to stay there for a while, will know whose word stands, mine or theirs!This will be a sign to you’— this is the LORD’s declaration—‘ that I will punish you in this place, so you may know that my words of disaster concerning you will certainly come to pass.This is what the LORD says: I am about to hand over Pharaoh Hophra, Egypt’s king, to his enemies, to those who intend to take his life, just as I handed over Judah’s King Zedekiah to Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar, who was his enemy, the one who intended to take his life.’”

Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officers, his leaders, all his people,

I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: my plan will take place, and I will do all my will.I call a bird of prey from the east, a man for my purpose from a far country. Yes, I have spoken; so I will also bring it about. I have planned it; I will also do it.

“ Then you are to say to them,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, as a result of the sword I am sending among you.’If they refuse to accept the cup from your hand and drink, you are to say to them,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: You must drink!For I am already bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth. This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.’“ As for you, you are to prophesy all these things to them, and say to them: The LORD roars from on high; he makes his voice heard from his holy dwelling. He roars loudly over his grazing land; he calls out with a shout, like those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.The tumult reaches to the ends of the earth because the LORD brings a case against the nations. He enters into judgment with all humanity. As for the wicked, he hands them over to the sword— this is the LORD’s declaration.

during that time the LORD had spoken through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying,“ Go, take off your sackcloth from your waist and remove the sandals from your feet,” and he did that, going stripped and barefoot—the LORD said,“ As my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot three years as a sign and omen against Egypt and Cush,so the king of Assyria will lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old alike, stripped and barefoot, with bared buttocks— to Egypt’s shame.Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.

This is the plan prepared for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out against all the nations.The LORD of Armies himself has planned it; therefore, who can stand in its way? It is his hand that is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
