古实又生宁录，他为世上英雄之首。他在耶和华面前是个英勇的猎户，所以俗语说：“像宁录在耶和华面前是个英勇的猎户。”

到那时，这高大光滑的民，就是从开国以来极其可畏、分地界践踏人的，他们的地有江河分开；他们必将礼物奉给万军之耶和华，就是奉到锡安山，耶和华安置他名的地方。

古实人、路比人的军队不是甚大吗？战车马兵不是极多吗？只因你仰赖耶和华，他便将他们交在你手里。

罗波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上来攻打耶路撒冷，因为王和民得罪了耶和华。示撒带战车一千二百辆，马兵六万，并且跟从他出埃及的路比人、苏基人，和古实人，多得不可胜数。他攻取了犹大的坚固城，就来到耶路撒冷。

有古实王谢拉率领军兵一百万，战车三百辆，出来攻击犹大人，到了玛利沙。

起身下埃及去，并没有求问我；要靠法老的力量加添自己的力量，并投在埃及的荫下。所以，法老的力量必作你们的羞辱；投在埃及的荫下，要为你们的惭愧。他们的首领已在琐安；他们的使臣到了哈内斯。

海中的水必绝尽，河也消没干涸。江河要变臭；埃及的河水都必减少枯干。苇子和芦荻都必衰残；靠尼罗河旁的草田，并沿尼罗河所种的田，都必枯干。庄稼被风吹去，归于无有。

“到那日，必有使者坐船，从我面前出去，使安逸无虑的古实人惊惧；必有痛苦临到他们，好像埃及遭灾的日子一样。看哪，这事临近了！”

后来不能再藏，就取了一个蒲草箱，抹上石漆和石油，将孩子放在里头，把箱子搁在河边的芦荻中。
