Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters, when he rebukes them they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills, like tumbleweed before a gale.

They sound like the roar of rushing waters. But when the Lord speaks out against them, they run far away. The wind blows them away like straw on the hills. A strong wind drives them along like tumbleweeds.

敗惡黨罰異邦兮、永世塗抹其名兮、

維彼惡者、猶之秕糠、為風飄揚。

彼若飛蓬、轉於空際、彼若糠秕、散於颶風、又在何時、我未之見也。

爾之仇敵、高若山岡、我將使爾為打榖之器、惟新其製、而有利齒、可擊諸敵、擣之成粉、有若秕糠。後簸揚之、任風吹散。我耶和華乃以色列族之聖主、爾曹賴我、其樂靡涯。

異邦之人、強暴特甚、猝然遁逃、猶之塵埃、無異糠秕。

上帝在彼、其城不移、上帝祐之、其效甚捷兮。異邦喧譁、列國震動、上帝行雷、天下喪膽兮。萬有之主、雅各之上帝耶和華、祐予衛予兮。試觀耶和華所為、降異災於天下兮、斷弓折戈、車爇以火、使在寰宇、人不興戎兮、告人曰、當息干戈、以我為上帝、天下異邦、咸欽崇我兮。萬有之主雅各之上帝耶和華、祐予衛予兮。

我萬有之主耶和華、赫兮煊兮、伐其巨枝、折其雄幹、使高者降為卑、持其斧斤、斬其林木、使豪傑之士盡斫利巴嫩之樹。

主曰、人以斧鋸、斬伐林木、斧鋸得自以為功乎、以杖箠扑人、杖箠能自運動、而自視為非木乎、故萬有之主將使肥健之人、變為瘦瘠、尊榮之輩、爇以烈火、

哀號遍於四境、利巴嫩林已被斬伐、無復向榮、沙崙荒蕪、巴山加密、樹木凋殘、耶和華曰、我將勃興、顯我巨力、彰我大能、敵之氣燄、如火之烈、災及其身、譬彼懷妊、所孕者秕糠、所產者草芥、我燬其軍旅、若陶人之煮灰、猶刈荊棘、焚之以火、

人不虐爾、而爾虐人、人不誣爾、而爾誣人、禍將及矣、爾以誣虐施諸人、則人待爾亦若是、耶和華與、我惟爾是賴、爾矜憫予、日施其力、以佑民、余遭患難、維爾援手、爾既勃興、群醜逃遁、威聲遠振、敵軍四散、

時鐵泥銅銀、與金俱碎、若夏時穀場之糠、為風飄揚、頓失無所、擊像之石、成為大山、遍盈天下、

耶穌起、斥風告海曰、默而靖、風遂止、大平息、乃語門徒曰、奚恐懼若是、何不信乎、眾甚駭、彼此相告曰、斯何人耶、風與海亦順之也、

強暴之人、若風撼墻、窮民遭難、爾扞衛之、颶風狂飆、爾扶翼之、烈日炎熇、爾庇蔭之、異邦之民、鼓譟而來、強暴之徒、謳歌以至、爾挫其銳氣、猶之曠野炎烝、爾覆以天雲。

亞述軍至我地、陟我岡、我必覆亡之、蹂躪之、脫民於苛役、去民之重軛、

故彼必若朝雲、立見其散、又若晨露、立見其晞、若穀場之糠、為颶風飄揚、猶之炊烟、騰於牖外。

爰有敵人、若海中之鱷魚、其體雄偉、其行迅速、盤曲若蛇、當斯時也、耶和華將持巨刃、堅利無儔、以剪斯敵。

耶和華震怒諸敵、勢若烈火、颶風雨雹、行潦驟至、霹靂遙聞、異跡立見、昔亞述人擊民、耶和華必以雷殛之、昔耶和華以亞述人為杖箠、以擊斯民、厥後亞述之人、戰鬥敗績、民將鼓琴彈瑟不已、自古以來、欲罰亞述國王在彼陀法、為備坎阱、其深無量、其廣無垠、積薪無數、望之若臺、焚之以火、耶和華之氣若硫磺、使烈燄四熾焉。

願彼遁逃、猶之秕糠、為風飄揚、耶和華之使、俾其隕越兮、

語之曰、至此則可、不得越其防、爾之洪濤澎湃、至此而止者、非我乎。

上帝兮、使彼若草芥、為風飄揚兮。如火焚於林、如焰燎於山兮、願爾追襲之、譬諸暴風、譬諸狂飆、使彼觳觫、

亞述人將殞沒、非人禍之也、彼必遁逃、若避利刃、彼之丁壯、淪胥以亡、郇山及耶路撒冷人、燔柴以祀我、我舉旌旆以衛之、亞述牧伯、見予旌旆、必將畏葸、遁於巖穴、我耶和華已言之矣。

因爾狂妄驕奢、升聞於上、故必置圈於爾鼻、置勒於爾口、使爾仍由其途而返。當告以色列民曰、今歲不耕而稔者、爾其食之、明年亦然、至於三年、可稼可穡、植葡萄園而食其果、既遇斯事、可以為徵。猶大之遺民、必下深其根、上結其實。耶路撒冷之民、將出郇山、得救之人將往、因我萬有之主耶和華熱中、必有此為、遂指亞述王、語民曰、彼必不入此城、不以干戈弓矢陳於前、不築壘以攻擊、必由所來之途而返、不入此城、我為己榮、亦為我僕大闢故、將扞衛此城、加以援手、我耶和華所言如此。是夕耶和華之使者、出在亞述營、擊其士卒十八萬五千、詰朝、惟見尸骸而已。亞述王西拿基立遂撒其營、歸尼尼微、值崇拜於其上帝溺落之殿、其子亞得米勒、沙哩斯弒之、遁於亞喇臘國、更有一子。以撒哈頓繼位。
