Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken; from the root of that snake will spring up a viper, its fruit will be a darting, venomous serpent.

“ The rod of Assyria has struck all of you Philistines. But do not be glad that it is broken. That rod is like a snake that will produce an even more poisonous snake. It will produce a darting, poisonous serpent.

Rejoice not, O Philistia, all of you, that the rod that struck you is broken, for from the serpent’s root will come forth an adder, and its fruit will be a flying fiery serpent.

Do not rejoice, you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken— that the king who attacked you is dead. For from that snake a more poisonous snake will be born, a fiery serpent to destroy you!

牲畜負物往南方、經艱難險阻之地、或作論南方之獸有預言曰彼經艱難險阻之地其中有牝獅、猛獅、又有毒蛇、飛蛇、以其貨財載於驢背、以其寶物負於駝峰、攜至不能益己之國、

嬰孩或作哺乳之孩將玩於蝮穴、方斷乳者置手於虺窟、

非利士人侵猶大窪地、及南方城邑、取伯示麥、雅耶倫、基底落、梭哥與其鄉里、亭納與其鄉里、瑾瑣與其鄉里、擄而居之、

自伊及前之西曷河河或作溪以北、至以革倫界、悉屬迦南人之地、屬非利士五伯之地、即屬迦薩地、屬亞實突地、屬亞實基倫地、屬迦特地、又有亞衛人之地、

爾敵傾覆、不可欣喜、彼顛蹶時、爾心勿歡樂、

先知曰、以色列歟、爾毋欣喜、同於異邦、因爾如淫婦如淫婦或作行淫棄爾之天主、譬諸妓女、在各穀場、望人投贈、

爾見以色列地荒蕪、因而歡樂、我必視爾所為以報爾、西珥山及以東全地必荒蕪、人則知我乃主、

我敵歟、毋因我而欣喜、我雖傾仆、仍必復起、我雖坐於昏暗、有主為我光明、

人子、推羅見耶路撒冷遭難、則曰吁哉、列民出入之門已破、今後一切必歸我、彼既荒蕪、我必豐滿、

當是時爾行為不復悖逆我、以致蒙羞、因是時我必自爾中除諸狂傲淫樂之人、使爾不復在我聖山妄自尊大、

爾弟遇害之日、爾不當旁觀、猶大族喪敗之日、爾不當欣喜、彼遭難之日、爾不當口出傲慢之言、

擊非利士人、攻其地至於迦撒、與其四境、自戍樓以及鞏固之城、○

非利士人獻金痔於主、為贖愆之祭者、其數如左、一為亞實突、一為迦薩、一為亞實基倫、一為迦特、一為以革倫、金鼠循非利士人諸邑之數、即屬其五伯者、自保障之邑以及鄉里、直至亞比勒巨石、此石即置主匱之石、在伯示麥人約書亞田間、至今尚存、
